If what I read in another place was right, she made racist 'jokes' about the naming of the new royal baby.

That's as vile as I imagined.

But hey, there's no systemic racism in this country, that nice Mr Sewell told us so.

I think we can confidently forecast that la Burchill won't be cricketing for England in the current season.

Don’t know why Burchill’s so late to the reactionary social media trolling party but she’s making a right balls up of it

Even The Telegraph has finally had enough:

Julie Burchill says she’s been sacked by Telegraph after racist tweet about Harry and Meghan’s baby Lilibet
“I’ve been sacked by the Telegraph – it’s been a lovely five years, and I’ll always be grateful to them for ending my wilderness years,” she wrote.

“However, I’d be lying if I said that I hadn’t often moaned to my husband recently about them always rejecting my edgy column ideas and giving me more pedestrian ones – which I’ve done splendidly anyway.”

“Onwards and upwards!” she added.

Of course, it was the Mail who gave her a platform:

Julie Burchill suggests anyone who thinks her Lilibet tweet was racist is a ‘snowflake sociopath’
But writing in the Daily Mail on Tuesday, she was unrepentant about the comments and hit out at her critics.

"The fact that I had called the baby 'It' seemed to trigger the snowflake sociopaths particularly, so I put that straight, posting: 'I called the baby it as a nod to non-binary BS — and if you think you can make me respect a violent criminal who once held a gun to a pregnant woman's stomach, you're in for a very long wait. Have a good time with your pearl-clutching life-wasting woo-woo, clowns!'"

George Floyd. Because one cannot be both a criminal and a victim of police brutality. And one cannot protest police brutality without condoning or ignoring everything their victims are accused of. Every single one of them. One unpaid parking ticket and you've done a HIPPOCRASSEEE!

What's clear is that Burchill et al want nothing more than licence to beat on whoever in their eyes looks a bit wrong. Natural progression of a newspaper columnist, I suppose - leading a lynch mob.
