Can someone tell me what the average, normal (if such a thing exists) American makes of this idiocy?

I just stumbled across a horrible video. A lady killed in Minnesota by an ICE agent.

I'll save you the grimness, but lay out what I saw and compare it to the government's response.

The lady is in a vehicle that is perpendicular on the street. I don't know, but the implication seems to be she is involved, in some way, with monitoring/protesting/observing ICE activity. It's not normal, as one often sees from footage of people doing this whilst ICE do whatever they tell themselves they need to do.

Some vehicles are moving up the road towards her: she seems to wave a vehicle past her, and said vehicle speeds past. She seems to indicate again, but the next vehicle to come stops, and out jump two or three men - ICE agents, it seems. They rapidly approach the car, trying to get in and/or, conceivably, wrench her out. Seems the logical intention. The driver sets the car to go: clear signs of making ready, wheels turning right. An ICE officer is in front, left side. The car moves forwards and right, and the officer moves left as the car moves right, and shoots (I believe several times) the driver through the window, almost point-blank range. They died.

The shooter, in another video, walks away from the scene. More bullshit happens with the paramedics, apparently, but not seen.

What is the government response?

Trump's statement is, of course, a Trumpean statement. We expect absolute fatuity, absolute contempt, absolute mendacity. But comparing and contrasting is quite something. There is absolutely not a shred of truth in any of it, other than the driver was shot. Literally nothing else is true.

This, of course, is in many ways not new for the USA - federal/state 'lawful' violence against individuals, generalised gun violence, the immediate recourse to lethality (I visited the US conservative sub reddit to see what they thought: apparently being shot for driving away is perfectly fine, standard, and CLEARLY the government goons are heroes and the "Don't Tread on Me" crowd have had a strange change of heart...) but the brazenness of the lies, the absolute contempt, and the utterly transparent propaganda machine whirring up right in front of one's eyes. Wow. They are beyond contemptible. And, again: they don't care. They just don't care. Nobody should take them sincerely, but they should take them VERY seriously.

At the back of my mind was the word "reservations", but I found it too horrible to even think it...

'Police' is a word shouty Mc'Going Down' seems to love.

They aren't Police.

They aren't UK traffic police.

They're armed enforcers of a belligerent ideology.

He can shout all he wants but you hear the worldview bleeding out in the phrasing, not the words: 'what is it you people don't understand'; 'going down'.

Don't argue with an idiot, they wear you down with experience.
Elegantly put.

If Trump protects his ICE Pretorian Guard from the law, he owns their arses. Can you see Trump's life ending in a Waco type shoot out in his Florida mansion between his ICE force and the FBI come to serve arrest warrants? Its fucking mad even asking but entirely plausible.

I'm still hoping that, one day, the military will remember their oath to defend the Constitution.

Where does the USA even begin to think about going after a week of murderous, shocking assaults on anything with a pulse? I fear that, with the Rubicon rapidly receding in the rear-view mirror, they can only invent new depths of psychopathic intent.

Remember that it was the Praetorian Guard who murdered mad emperors like Caligula, Commodus, Galba et al. And, of course, made others, like Claudius.

I don't much like "Jonathan Pie" so I've started the video late in the link; but if what he is saying is true at this point, shouldn't some of these cunts be arrested for treason or some similar offence?

I am getting seriously worried that my two great-nephews may never get to my age because their world will be destroyed in a nuclear conflagration between the Four Cunts Of The Apocalypse (I'll leave you to think whom they might be).

If you're still not worried yet about DJT, perhaps you should be:

Donald Trump has said ‘I don’t need international law” and that his power is limited only by his “own morality”.

In a new interview with the New York Times, Trump said the only constraint to his power as president of the US is “my own morality, my own mind”.

“It’s the only thing that can stop me,” Trump said, adding: “I’m not looking to hurt people.” He went on to concede “I do” in regards to whether his administration needed to adhere to international law, but said: “It depends on what your definition of international law is.”

Like me, your immediate thought must have been that if Trump’s behaviour really is governed only by his own personal morality, then we are all fucked.

My immediate thought as well. The most powerful person in the world is an amoral piece of shit surrounded by a bunch of twisted sychophants guided by a 16th century interpretation of their religion.
