Yet there are some against battery storage too - sometimes "because lithium", sometimes "blot on the landscape".

I don't think there's any understanding in wider society of the scale of current (ha!) electricity requirements and how that is going to ramp up in future. Sticking some solar panels on some roofs is not going to cut it. Yes, you may be able to power your house for a bit, and maybe store some for later and even sell some back to the grid (the consumer grid that isn't going to scale to cope with generation as well as local distribution), but what about that small factory down the road that has powerful machines running 24/7? What about the electric aluminum and steel smelters? What about high density housing and commercial space in city centres? None of this will be supported by a Green version of 'folk furnaces'.

Scottish Greens call for king to lose tax breaks
The Scottish Greens are calling for the king to lose the tax breaks he gets in Scotland. They are opposed to the monarchy as an institution, but they are saying that if they were in power in Holyrood they would end the exemption that allows the king to buy property in Scotland without paying the land and buildings transaction tax.

Most taxes were the monarchy enjoys an exemption are controlled by the UK government, but this is one that is devolved to Holyrood.
Sure, but does the King buy and sell property in Scotland very often? I guess it's another one to add on to the Wealth Tax next time they get asked about funding.

Greens claim 'quickest way to open strait of Hormuz is to tell US and Israel to end war'
The Green party says Keir Starmer should be more explicit about telling the US and Israel that they must end the war against Iran. It released a statement from the Green MP Siân Berry
She actually says in her statement how unreliable Trump is! But if we ring him up and tell him to stop, he just does it? No need for this diplomacy shit of trying to get a broad-based international coalition together?

They have to spout this tripe to keep their new Jez members onside. Not that all the new members will be like that (see the vote against nationalising retail energy companies). This seems like a strategy for hitting a ceiling sooner rather than later.
