Me too. I wanted to know who else did this. I couldn't see that anyone else did.

Jess's experience on VAWG isn't on tech. Nor is George Monbiot's who's posted his usual anti-Starmer "corporate tech puppet" stuff.

But that would mean putting country and party before self-interest!!
If only one of them was 72 years old and had recent form for racially insensitive political gaffes....

Andy Burnham will push to become PM before Labour conference, allies say
Autumn conference in Liverpool targeted for victorious homecoming but Reform UK to fight hard in byelection
https://www.theguardian.com/politics/20 ... conference

Literally one person says this, anonymously. Another quoted straight afterwards says he isn't thinking about this, but about the by-election. And someone else says he might like to go for it earlier.

This stuff is leading the news at this paper. It's barely Kuenssberg standard. There's actually no news in this story. The story was earlier that Burnham was running in the by-election. This adds nothing. Couldn't something about policy have been written instead?

Again Jess Phillips is someone I have supported and admired for years, she has done fantastic and vital work defending women and girls but this magic solution is moronic. Hopefully some time on the backbenches will enable her to reflect and she'll return more thoughtful and wiser.
I admire her too, but her expertise here is not in tech. It sounds like drug companies targeting the Health Secretary with promises of wonder drugs, which we'd be very suspicious of. I don't know what the procedure with tech is. Who signs it off? Whose job would it be to say "actually this isn't great"? A lot is made of Starmer have shady tech advisors with conflicts of interest. Maybe it was them and on this occasion they gave good advice.

That's at least one person getting way ahead of themselves.
