Globalisation means common terminology. America is biggest, so sets the terms.

Well, yes. I dare say he probably will win his pantomime by-election, but that obviously will not leave him totally vindicated, as he imagines. In fact if he only just scrapes past Binface he will be damaged goods. And the paused investigation by the parliamentary commissioner will resume, he'll face suspension and a recall petition, and then a real by-election, which he could lose - probably to the Tories.

Don't forget he's also under criminal investigation as well.

Obviously I don’t know how quickly things could move, but is there a possibility that Farage is charged by the police for his dubious dealings before the by-election but after the deadline for nominations, and so it becomes a straight race between Binface and Fox?

NCA proceedings take years - it's a very small outfit, I understand. I give you Michelle Mone and her husband.

Another amusing side-issue is how right-wing commentators are revealing Binface's identity like it's some big exclusive and proves a massive conspiracy.

A contest between a fox and a bin?...the jokes write themselves.

Reform are clearly not confident about winning Clacton.
My evidence?
They are redirecting activists from Manchester to Clacton.
The Manchester Mayoral Election should, with an effective campaign, be within Reform's grasp and would be a great coup for them.
It's also more imminent (30th July against 13th August).
Instead they are focusing on what's supposed to be their safest seat where their leader and most popular figure faces no serious opposition, they definitely believe Nigel's in jeopardy.

I know nothing about him, but that picture just screams public school tosspot who probably sent his schooldays being bog washed and is now out for revenge.

He's 21, so I'd say "no".

Why do people still believe that it's only older people who are racists?

He's bald I think now... and probably my age.

Anyhow this is resembling the Blackadder by election.

Someone made the point that Farage's thinking may have been influenced by the Makerfield by-election, where Burnham got to run on a quasi-presidential ticket. Perhaps Nigel fancied a bit of that.
