He's both ruined his routines and - as with Norcott - scuppered any other mainstream career since he took the GB News gig and took the mask off. Right wing punch-down 'humour' just isn't funny.
Also recall Simon Evans being funny and thought the grumpy suburban Tory snob was a persona.

Me too. I've not heard him for years, but I remember him from the News Quiz about 20 years ago, I thought he was an improved version of the kind of posh Tory twat Harry Enfield used to do.

Delusions of grandeur or what? From the i, via the Guardian:
The Reform UK leader was offered the protection following police advice on the threats he faced.

He had already been receiving publicly funded security prior to this, and felt that his package had been downgraded.

It would have given Farage a similar level of security to Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch and some high-profile Cabinet ministers.

Farage declined the offer because he considered the protection to be inadequate.
What does the FFC want? His own private militia? Surely that five million quid would have got him the level of protection he feels he deserves?

Jenrick complaining government not doing enough / £5 million smackers for security plus numerous other gifts?

Straight talking, this shit isn't.

Just how much protection does the leader of the sixth-biggest Parliamentary party consider himself entitled to?

Is Shabana Mahmood indulging Farage's bullshit ordering anti-terrorist officers onto the Widecombe case and inviting Farage in for meetings?
Will she be backing Farage over Speaker Hoyle with claims that 'the establishment' has discriminated against Reform over security?

That five million quid could have bought him a lot of apes in black suits...

Read elsewhere; he doesn't want an official protection detail, because then the "Establishment" will know all his visits and meetings.

Of course the real reason Farage turned down the offered protection is that protection is from serving police officers and the last thing Farage wants is nosey cops knowing where he goes and who he meets there.
Much better to have lads on the payroll that he can order about and who know how to keep their traps shut.

There's certainly an element of "Parties should get their own militia".

Farage would get the same protection as other MPs if:
1: He actually attended the well policed house of commons.
2: He was an MP - oh!
