Not completely sure but according to the last census it was 98% white. I wouldn't be surprised if that number is now 100%.

Wasn't too long ago they had a poster removed - then replaced and then removed again and then replaced again at the entrance to the local play park (what is it with the far right and AI images?) that made it clear that persons of a certain culture weren't welcome in the village.

As for Ms. Hatey, I wonder where she gets her income these days as I'd assume she's otherwise unemployable?

I see the Moygashel bonny was lit early last night in an attempt to stop contractors moving in and dismantling it.

Tommy Robinson’s Musk-funded Russia trip spurs call to defend UK democracy

Robinson appeared last month in Moscow, from where he issued calls for supporters to take to the streets after a knife attack in Belfast. He shared video of himself in a luxury Moscow hotel with Errol Musk, whose son has been a vocal supporter of Robinson.

Davey, the Liberal Democrat leader, said: “Tommy Robinson is a useful idiot for a hostile state. What kind of so-called British patriot jets to Moscow to rub shoulders with Putin’s cronies, bankrolled by a US trillionaire?

Sadiq Khan among 26 new peers to enter the Lords

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cglj25k94r9o
London Mayor Sir Sadiq Khan is one of 26 new peers to be given seats in the House of Lords in one of Sir Keir Starmer's last acts as prime minister.

Sir Sadiq has been nominated to become a Labour Lord alongside 15 others, including broadcaster June Sarpong and former union chief Christina McAnea.

Joining the Lords would allow Sir Sadiq to become a government minister but the BBC understands he is not seeking a role in Andy Burnham's incoming government.

The government has also announced five new peers from the Liberal Democrats, three from the Conservatives and two cross-bench members, the former cabinet secretary Sir Chris Wormald and Sir Brian Leveson, a retired senior judge.
And the usual suspects say

It'll certainly wind up the petrolheads who hate on him simply because of ULEZ: well, I remember coming into London on the early train on many a sunny summer morning and seeing a vile brown smog hanging over the capital. I'd like to think it's much diminished, even eliminated now.

I lived on a road between Russell Square and Tottenham Court Road in 2002, and you could both see and taste the air when you stepped outside.

I used to take a deep breath as I was locking the door, and see how far I could sprint before I needed another one, because breathing was absolutely foul, especially in summer.

I've been back through the same neighborhood a couple of times a year ever since, and the difference is huge.

I must admit I continue to be surprised by Dacre absence, during the Tory years. I would have thought he would have been a given under May

Sometimes there's a reluctance to give honours if the potential recipient has tried a bit too hard.
