Funny how the casting of Matt Damon as a Greek king despite him being a decidedly non-Greek bloke from the US, and Tom Holland, an equally non-Greek and if anything quite pale and northern european-looking British chap, as the non-Greek guy’s Greek son hasn’t phased him at all.

Exactly, it's not history, it's historical fiction and an author can muck about with another author's fictional work as much as they like and the audience can pick and choose which version they prefer.
