Is being punished for life for your mistakes a progressive position? There’s plenty of anti-racist activists previously involved in fascist groups before repenting. Admittedly signing up to be a councillor for a Farage tribute act Tory Party is an odd route to redemption.
There was an IRA member who became a Tory councillor, I recall. I guess that's a special case because of the peace process.

Generally, I would expect this chap to get a life ban. There's a lot of it, over a long period.

He's not some foot soldier seduced into a far-right group when he was a misguided teenager, he was trying to set up his own explicitly Nazi Party - not the EDL, not even the BNP, actual Hitler-was-right Nazis.
A teacher or a police officer holding such views would face a life-long ban, I have no issue with politicians being treated the same.

And his main thing now seems to be posting unpleasant AI images of politicians not in Reform or the Tories. That alone ought to have raised red flags.
Agreed.
Although he does actually have a go at Reform, only this morning I saw one portraying them as Dad's Army, it wasn't complimentary.
Or funny.

To further understanding of Bonehill's many and various crimes, here's a link to the judge's sentencing remarks from his 2016 trial, it makes astonishing and revolting reading.
There is no evidence, beyond Bonehill's word, that his views have changed.

Sheesh. Can just imagine what this guy's behaviour would have escalated to if he hadn't been sent down.

Yeah, he's a bit fucking special.
And bright and articulate too.
And now he's advising the Tory Party...

Fuck a Duck. That is absolutely shocking.

While not wishing to dismiss the valuable ideals of rehabilitation, forgiveness, and redemption, it should not be the business of any serious political party even to consider embracing someone with such a reprehensible record. Even Farage would have the political nous to give this guy a wide berth.

Indeed, Reform, Labour and the LibDems have all condemned his appointed. So far only The Greens have defended it.
