He's also accused South Korea of being ungrateful for American protection, and very rudely carrying out training exercises without checking with nice Mr Jong-Il upstairs.

Yeah the kind of statement that would sink most Presidents and we don’t have a blip.

Seems Ossoff is starting to pick up the mantle a bit.

I heard this explained by an American commentator - I think a retired diplomat - as a misspeak. She demonstrated that, in Trump's accent, friendly "Oman" sounds similar to "Yemen" stuffed full of nasty Houthis. In her opinion the mostly likely explanation is that a confused old man got confused, was too vain to admit his mistake so doubled down.

That's an interesting explanation. Or perhaps he just thinks everyone in the Middle East is an enemy apart from Israel and Saudi Arabia, who knows? He's long thought that political asylum meant that the people in question were from actual asylums. And there's been a lot of deterioration since then.

Curious thing I learned tonight; listening to James O'Brien on the farcical libel claim against the BBC by Trump (in which he has now changed the fucking judge), I wasn't aware that under the terms of its Charter the BBC is not allowed to settle out of court?

Trump and his coterie of cunts need to be careful. If the rest of the world starts dumping US government bonds the USA will find itself in a very dark place very quickly. They need to wake up to the fact that they need the rest of the world more than the rest of the world needs them, and quickly. Patience is running out.

Much as I'd like to see the world dump US bonds, teach this openly corrupt administration a lesson and laugh as their economy collapses completely, I don't think the geo-political consequences would be worth it...

Apparently, the BBC’s charter prevents it from agreeing an out-of-court settlement in any legal case.

Which is clearly something that Trump didn’t know about when he decided to launch his ridiculous libel action against Auntie B. His usual modus operandi in these things is to sue people for squillions of dollars, then pocket a large amount of cash when whoever he is sueing settles out of court because they really don’t want a high-profile legal case against the POTUS. he never really intends any action to get to court.

The BBC, being the BBC, has chucked a massive spanner into Trump’s plans. So now, Trump either has to submit to a full court case with all of his lies and shenanigans fully exposed to the glare of the public spotlight, with Don jnr and Ivanka subpoenad and which he is all but bound to lose, or abandon the action and be basically humiliated in doing so.

More power to the Beeb’s elbow.

Yep.

I didn't know that about the BBC Charter till just now. He's down to 33% approval, 60% disapproval with Reuters/Ipsos
