It's almost like it's possible for places to compete on quality, not just cost. Not least the sort of places David Frost goes on holiday, one might guess.

Why this constant pretence that people who go on holiday are all like potless seventies pensioners heading to Margate for a week? Lots of people are not well off, but if the tourist tax means that there's another attraction for the kids, are they going to care that much?
