Even if you're an advocate of new right people's capitalism (big in the 80s, kids) abolishing inheritance tax is a dumb non starter. The wealthiest will end up accruing everything like Russia and they'll be no economic middle classes. Which is already the direction of travel.

This is absolutely mad. We've already had her abolishing stamp duty, which in fairness is a bad tax, but her solution is just a big freebie to people selling big houses who just raise the price to make up for there being no stamps duty. What's next? Corporation Tax?

People don't like the idea of paying tax when they're dead, as they see it, but I think there's a good chance that the policy falls apart in an election campaign when people see who benefits from it.
