I've just googled Dom Joly and I can still say I've never heard of him. Who are the people in the picture? I don't recognise any of them.

More bottomless fucking depravity.
Ukrainians can come to Britain if they don't have relatives, if they apply to be seasonal fruit pickers. And yes, the cunt is serious.

Kevin Foster. A bog-standard Tory scorpion hitching a ride on the toads of decency across perilous waters. Nothing to see here. Cunt.

Dom Jolly is probably best known for Trigger Happy TV (late 90s prank show). As for the photo, the bloke on the far-right (ho ho) is Laurence Fox a former actor (best known for being Lewis's sidekick in Morse spin off "Lewis") now better known for being a right-wing gobshite on Twitter. I can't name the other three but I've seen them on TV and I'm pretty confident they are all GBNews presenters.

Darren Grimes is in the picture along with Calvin Robinson but not sure about the fourth person but I think GB News has been using some piss poor comedians to do their paper reviews so the fourth person may well be a mediocre comedian.

This week Putin destroyed three geopolitical strategies that benefit Russia’s security:
Ostpolitik- German detente with Moscow going back to the 70s. Scholz has committed Germany to exporting weapons for the first time since 1945.
Finlandisation- Offering non intervention to a neighbour if they agree to defend Russia against Western attack. Finland and Sweden have both floated NATO membership. Unthinkable during the Cold War.
Lost support of the Visegrad- Four right wing populist leaders closest to Putin (to ferment EU disunity) have found themselves facing a real enemy. Instead of imaginary ones made up by Orban.
Don’t know where Turkey’s at but Putin’s probably turned Erdogan westward.

Whilst Putin's invasion doesn't seem to be going to plan he is still capable of causing substantial damage to Ukraine and is difficult to see how that damage will be repaired in the short term. If the invasion does fail will Putin be toppled and if so who will replace him?

I thought the one on the right was vaguely familiar. I knew he's a cunt because he's wearing sunglasses indoors.

Google said Jolly was in Trigger Happy TV. Reading that last night was the first time I've ever heard of it.

Dom Joly (note the spelling) was probably famous for one thing as TBQH I never found him funny - a sort of Romesh Ranganathan of his day - and that was walking about with a man-sized mobile phone and shouting into it in different locations.

I do wonder if Foster is recalling the experience of those Ukrainians who were brought to England at the end of WW2 (my father being one of them) and who became "Displaced Workers", frequently working in agriculture before finding jobs elsewhere? Different world back then.

I do wonder how all the now-departed members of our "Friday Bridge Gang" would see these events now.

Time Magazine have probably got their Person of the Year award boxed off already. They enjoy fawning over whoever happens to be the biggest shithead in the world is at any given time.

I read a copy of Time once. I say "read", but it's like a sub-Sunday supplement, only thinner. It must take them half an hour to rustle up each issue. I was expecting it to be some erudite journal, I was sadly mistaken.
