Own thread to cheer ourselves up?

Labour regained Rhonnda on a 19% swing. Solid everywhere else in South Wales.

Whatever else Drakeford did, he didn't go for a particularly bold manifesto. I suppose when you have power you can do that.

Elizabeth ‘Buffy’ Williams winning the Rhondda seat in the Senedd.

Lovely girl. Has worked tirelessly for Rhondda during the floods and the pandemic.

The North Wales Labour seats won in the general election by the Tories swung a bit to them, but not that much. Labour (assuming Brexit goes badly) have a decent chance of winning them back in 2024, I reckon.

Only disappointment was the Vale of Cwyd but that’s marginal, increases in areas where they needed them such as the Gower and some of the red wall. Question is how do Labour do that in England.

Drakeford looks like your pleasant History teacher but without the nastiness and snide ness of Corbyn.

Lab win the last declared seat, Vale of Glamorgan, by 3,270, on a swing to Labour.

Good set of results.

Arguably on the retirement of Ann Jones in Vale of Clwyd lost that seat. Don't know much about her, but seems popular. She is 67, so you can't blame her.

Very tight as well...

Still looks like they will be able to govern with the one Lib Dem again, depends if they do that or not.

Joint best ever performance.

Who put the Plaid Cymru Aberconwy rumour around?

The Tories won it by 14%, twice as much as last time.

Sources, I realised after Biden’s victory in November and Brexit that its worth taking them with a pinch of salt.

Remember when, for a few glorious hours one night in June 2017, we were led to believe that Philip Davies, aka The Shit from Shipley, had actually lost his seat? All because of "sources".......

The Tories attacked the Welsh Government on the pandemic quite a lot. Doesn't seem to have done them much good.

I'd forgotten that. He got more than half the vote.

Hope he's enjoying his Labour metro mayor tonight.

Johnson in Uxbridge is in danger was another.

Apparently Labour had no chance of the south west mayor on Saturday morning.
