Just occurred to me who he reminds me of: the middle aged over the hill drug dealers in Dead Men's Shoes (FAO Abers, a 2004 thriller by Shane Meadows, set in Matlock, and starring Paddy Considine).

Anderson keeps inviting critics to visit a food bank in his constituency. I don’t know if there’s anything different about the one he has in mind. I expect the people have just been less obvious in calling his twattery out.
