So we'll breed the lefties out?

Not sure if this is eugenics or idiocracy. Possibly both.

I’m horrified but rather pleased when they come out with this.

At least it’s very clear what they mean.

No need for nose calipers and Dulux colour charts when a simple DNA test will do the job.
You might want to sit down while I read the results, Herr Schicklgruber.

Goodwin might have a point about Brown’s response to Gillian Duffy. Not old Labour enough

Funny how the most obviously elite institution is the one he thinks is OK. Say what you like about universities but they let in anybody who can get the grades (and survive the up front costs). Not true of monarchy.

Do the considerable number of young people who don't attend university all support the monarchy then, Matty?

Me neither. I can live with constitutional monarchy faute de mieux, but am competely uninterested in the Coronation and the state opening of Parliament,

I'm surprised to find Goodwin is nearly 10 years younger than me.

I'm reliably informed by my wife that the care home workers she knows (who are what Goodwin would think of as proper working people, if you know what I mean) have no interest in the Coronation. This is not particularly surprising because they are under 70 years old.

Actual professor of politics here.

The Tories lost a lot of seats in 1991 primarily because they did very in 1987 (local elections held on day of General Election landslide). Actual margin in 1991 was only Labour +3. IIf the Tories lose 1,000 seats this time, Labour will be ahead by much more.

2019 locals were a low point for the Tories and May was gone in two months. Minus one seat is a terrible result for Sunak.

In fairness, May was fighting seats in 2019 that had last been fought on General Election day in 2015. But she managed to lose 1,330, and that without the Brexit Party running.

In fairness, 2019 was everyone vs the Brexit party (and up this way, Tommy fucking Robinson).

They were pretty much the sole right wing choice at this election.

And they still recorded 1,051 losses on the back of a previous 1,330.

This hasn’t been done at all.
