And Democrats, don’t feel too self-righteous here. If he was on your team, most of you would like him too. You may deny it, but you’re lying to yourself.

Letting sleaze slide to keep your guy in power is not quite the same as liking. But point taken as big city Democrat mayors who are bent as a nine Bob note secure re-election.
It’s not a bad thing that party loyalty isn’t wide or deep enough in this country to keep a person like Trump in power. Would enough MPs have moved against Boris Johnson if his antics hadn’t become an electoral liability? Probably not but he did.

Biden was held to a higher standard, if Trump gurgles nonsense, forgets who everyone is and walks into a store cupboard, it's another day at the office. His supporters don't expect any better.

Marina Hyde sums up the last week or so:
Trump is furious with the WSJ owner, Rupert Murdoch, and threatening to “sue his ass off”. Oh please don’t, Mr President! His ass is 94 years old and incredibly wrinkled. Also, half of Britain’s political class still lives up it. Then again, perhaps Trump v Murdoch is very much the desiccated-dick-waving contest the world … wants? Needs? Will have to endure?

Actual Speaker of the House of Representatives. Economy is hot, cut interest rates. Completely wrong logic, but what you get when you stick two talking points together.

This Washington Redskins stuff is a long running culture trope, since Obama backed the change of name. The usual rules apply- the US Religious Right is allowed to take as much offence as it likes, such as to the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics (when it was Dionysus, not The Last Supper anyway) but everyone else just has to suck it up.

When they do it, it's not "censorship" or `"pandering to minorities' (most people in America aren't perma-offended Christians).

Ha ha ha ha. And as others have observed, not the first time a bloke called Johnson has pulled this sort of stunt.

I love the way he’s suddenly the spokesman for the indigenous tribes, you know, the ones he’s trying to take away their rights and land

“This show hasn’t been relevant for over 20 years and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention,” White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers said in the statement. “President Trump has delivered on more promises in just six months than any other president in our country’s history – and no fourth-rate show can derail President Trump’s hot streak.”

Does anyone really think that Trump only took a shine to children, once he was in his late 50s?

That seems rather improbable. Tick-tock...
