You have used the verb 'to think' in a context in which it may be inapplicable.

According to the rowers when they finally reached land their were hundreds of people/vigilantes waiting for them with torches. This could have lead to a serious public order incident. Presumably if that had occurred Rupert would have denied any responsibility.

Expect the usual rabble of self styled "Property developers" with a few third tier hedge funds.
Plus self-styled businessmen "with a sense of destiny".

I'm getting strong 'hang the monkey' vibes.

Came here to say: Great Yarmouth wishes it was the new Hartlepool.

One of the Rowers is a Royal Marine.
It might have been fun to see a couple of Tommy wannabees catching the broad end of a paddle up their hoops.

I don't endorse everything Labour have said about immigration (that speech was terrible, and I hope Starmer never repeats the sentiments, let alone the phrasing). But I think there's some silly talk about Labour "outReforming Reform and failing". It's not doing that. It's trying to meet lots of its voters where they are. That might not be great strategy (though most votes so far have been lost to the Lib Dems, which I think are eminently rewinnable where needed), but that's a different point.

There's certainly a political constituency who have a (you might say) vested interest in making out Labour are basically Reform. Labour's committed to the ECHR and resolving issues in partnership with European partners.

Why did Rupes think anybody migrants would row into Great Yarmouth? There's a reason they arrive in Kent. He thought they were pulling a cunning trick missing out Essex and Suffolk? I can almost hear the devious pilot. "Shit, we should have gone into Lowestoft where they have a Labour MP. No getting past Rupes in Great Yarmouth!"

That would be the writers for the News Huddlines and Johnny Fartpants in Viz teaming up with the animators for Bod.

"We are not happy with these men in this hotel because we fear for our children," Orla Minihane tells me. "If that makes me far-right then so be it."

Orla has lived near Epping since she was a child and describes herself as a "very boring woman who has worked in the City of London for 25 years". Last year she joined Reform UK and hopes to stand as a local candidate for the party.
