Yep, See the opposition to water bills rising. That's not mostly to pay the cost of "neoliberalism" or whatever, it's to pay for the cost of the reservoirs, sewers and leak fixes that are needed. Bills were kept relatively low for a decade, even though Ofwat must have known that wasn't sustainable. I suppose it's easy for me to say so as someone comfortably off but I'm impressed so far with the Government's determination to get the infrastructure paid for and built. They'll get no thanks for it. You'll know I'm not a fan of political cartoons at the best of times, but here's one that sums this stuff up for me.
