Corbyn senior has apparently joined Jez’s party. Which at least means Jez is now not the most deluded person called Corbyn in it.

I read on social media that the establishment fears Corbyn's new party. Especially Bill Gates and his secret nanobots if Piers is on boards.

Bumped into an old friend who knows quite a few senior Labour figures in Cardiff and the Valleys. These people are resolutely Labour Left: Exactly the sort of disillusioned members who should be considering a move to Corbyn's new set-up. Apparently not one of them is remotely interested. It's not a direct quote, but "he's not interested in detail and he's hopeless at managing" sums it up.

I would also imagine that they're the sort of Left who aren't obsessive about Palestine.

I get why they don't like Paul Mason, but nice taster of some of the people the new party will attract BTL. One of them takes a stand for the right to call Israelis "Nazis". Seriously.

One interesting criticism of Sultana's there is that Corbyn's Labour "triangulated" too much on Brexit. Did she not know Corbyn's views before? Corbyn actually came round to supporting a second referendum, like the Lib Dems and the Greens, but neither of those wanted to associate with him. The reason for this is probably not "too much triangulation".

More heavyweight analysis. Hopefully this rubbish wears thin before long. She's appointed herself number 2 to Corbyn (does he say this?), and I think she might be seriously overplaced.

It's suggested she's going to look for another constituency. She'll probably show in Bethnal Green and Bow, as that was a near miss last time.

Not just an MP, but appointed Company Secretary. Adnan Hussain. He is a bit of a funny fit for this party generally, with more interest in business than Jez has ever shown, plus opposed to VAT on school fees, and decriminalization of abortion. I guess this is what you get when you ride a single, disproportionately Muslim, issue. (I'm not saying only Muslims are interested in Gaza, far from it, I'm saying that the weight put on it for voting is higher than among non-Muslims).

No fan of Polanski at all, but hard to see how the Greens (being mostly free of Jez baggage) don't predominate in most places. Jez could end up scrapping with Galloway in a few constituencies with favorable demographics (the Greens lost their deposit in Adnan Hussain's Blackburn constituency). Would Jez want to end up there?

The Gaza issue certainly creates some strange bedfellows. Obviously I know that not all Muslims are homophobes but when I see LGBTQ+ banners marching alongside Palestinian flags I can't help but reflect that "Jerusalem Pride" is a thing whereas Hamas routinely chuck gays off buildings.

Queers For Palestine etc are (in part) about persuading other elements of the Gaza coalition of the case for gay and trans rights. I don’t know how that’s gone. Perhaps at activist level they’ve had some success, just like their forebears in the Miners Strike.
