Easing Israel towards the status of Pariah state, that is what the international community has been doing. Much as Smotrich and Ben Gvir might howl, they have shot their "blood libel" bolt, and no one is shying away from criticism any longer.

In truth, I don't think that Israel is beyond repair. They still have enough democratic integrity to boot these thugs and vandals out, and pack them off to The Hague for aping all that they learned in their studying of what happened to their forebears in Warsaw, Lviv, Theresienstadt and beyond - it was supposed to be a salutary lesson, rather than a handy users' guide.

Would the present US administration baulk against an Israeli Government of National Notcuntery? Probably.

But, that would not hold with the decent US Jewish vote and the shame that has been visited upon Israel.

They seem to have a wobbly over their heroes' words being represented, so this'll irritate them, the weird fuckers.

Fucksduck. Channel 4 is currently devoting three hours of TV time to documenting, in detail, all of the lies that Donald Trump has told in office.

I've baled out as I could take no more. But somehow, though I more or less knew of most off it already(geek that I am), it's still gobsmacking to see it all documented in this way.

Free speech, innit.

Jimmy Kimmel taken off air over Charlie Kirk comments

Kimmel said in his Monday night monologue: "The Maga Gang desperately trying to characterise this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it."
President Trump wrote in a social media post: "The ratings challenged Jimmy Kimmel Show is CANCELLED. Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done."

Reminds me of the death of Thatcher. When first reported, even the Mail acknowledged she was a divisive figure and not universally popular. Once they got that out of the way, anything short of full blown hagiography was treasonous bile.

As others have asked, how are the 'take what JD Vance said in Munich seriously" crowd taking this?

Hopefully, this is a big mistake. People don't like "cancel culture", whoever does it.

The Right hates cancel culture when it's their idiots who are being cancelled. When it's people saying nasty things about them (I.e telling the truth and/or using their own words), it's all perfectly fine.

Freeze peach only goes one way.

Lots of people who aren't particularly on the right hate it too. Sometimes of course it's exaggerated- see one "cancellation" of Germaine Greer being basically a protest, before which her appearance went ahead- but not always. They'll not like the President ringing up a TV station to get someone taken off who said something bad about his movement.

I see that Rupert Murdoch was at the Trump banquet last night. The CUNT.

A friend of mine just dismissed all the pomp and frippery expended to greet Trump on his state visit as “the diplomatic equivalent of jingling your keys in front of a toddler”. I like that.

Or giving little Donny a sailor cap and plastic boat for bathtime telling him he's the bestest sea captain ever.
And Charles would have witnessed his mother entertaining Marcos, Mugabe and Caecescu so gets all this diplomatic kowtowing. None of them laid claim to Canada though.

I can't, for the life of me, understand why Trump has gone feral on H-1B visas, which largely targets Indian* applicants. Sundar Pichai (Alphabet/Google), Satya Nadella (Microsoft), Shantanu Narayen (Adobe), Arvind Krishna (IBM), and Neal Mohan (YouTube) are all Indian.

Does he really think that he is going to get their equivalents from the USA talent pool, which he is actively trying to destroy?

* just yesterday, I hired some Indian tech-lads at their asking rate to churn out more in an hour than Krauts could deliver in a day.

“A hundred-thousand dollars a year for H-1B visas, and all of the big companies are on board. We’ve spoken to them,” Lutnick said at an Oval Office event with the US president.
Of course the big companies are fine with it - it's peanuts for them. Amazon, Microsoft, and Meta's annual revenues are well over a trillion dollars between them and even then all they'll do is some mass layoffs elsewhere in their huge organisations to cover the cost if they wanted to.

Also, in the small print, the head of Homeland Security can issue a waiver in the interests of "National Security"

I didn't think 'Anteefa' existed as an organisation? :?

From the White House website:
President Donald J. Trump is right: the violence problem is on the Left. That’s why he just designated Antifa — a network of Radical Left terrorists that aim to overthrow the government through violence and agitation — as a domestic terrorist organization.

Correct, Antifa isn't an "organisation". Trump can label anyone he doesn't like "a member of Antifa" and they can't prove they're not because there are no membership lists because there are no members.

Isn't "Antifa" a sort of truncation of "anti-fascist"?

And isn't anti-fascist meant to be a good thing?
