Tories win North Yorks but majority of 1, with 21 seats notionally lost.

Looking back on the results from last night, I think it can be safely predicted that Labour won't be winning Thurrock at a GE anytime soon.
The Tories must wish the entire country resembles the likes of Thurrock or Clacton.

Thurrock seems to have turned into Castle Point.

I love how Momentum are quite happy to claim credit when Labour do well.

Labour seem to be on for gaining Monmouthshire.
Tories really shit in Reading. Johnson probably thinks people who live there are girly geek swots or something.

The Tories are up to 300+ losses now. Still, “No avalanche, Boris is safe, move on” or summat.

Labour apparently struggling in Tower Hamlets, did badly in Harrow too, with Croydon to come.
I can't keep up, does this mean Labour are OK and not metrpolitan elite after all?

The Tories have lost two seats in North Swindon. I don't think anyone locally saw that coming. Labour invested no resources in either ward, no leaflets or door knocking.
This in particular one was delicious. Just fourteen votes in it.
Priory Vale
Elected: HEATH, Robert Andrew - Labour Party
HEATH, Robert Andrew - Labour Party - 1144
TOMLINSON, Kate - The Conservative Party - 1130
For context, Kate Tomlinson is the wife of North Swindon MP Justin Tomlinson. He is the ultimate Yes man, having never voted against the government in his twelve years as an MP. Interesting times ahead.

Birmingham Acocks Green has lost one Labour councillor, Jess's office manager John O'Shea. It's not a massive surprise as he heads the shitshow that is the council's refuse department and the Lib Dems are strong in the area and have thrown everything at it.

I remembered that Mail graphic & was just about to repost it here. Can't help but find it really amusing.
If the Daily Mail says it is a bloody disaster, then it must be true - am I right?

I suppose for me there is a bit of (cynical) sunshine in all this; here in Leicestershire we haven’t had elections this year so still stuck with a Tory council, both at country level and in the borough I live in, so it means we could well get a shitload of money coming our way

Disaster in Neath Port Talbot. Big swing from Labour and Plaid Cymru to Independents. Hard to think why that might be. The Labour council weren't spending a million pounds on a statue of Toby Young or anything.
South Wales is a bit prone to groups of Independents. There's one in Merthyr (tied with Labour) and there was one in Blaenau Gwent

Flintshire is having a surge of independents challenging Labour too. So far taken 5 seats off them.

Ooh recovery in Flintshire. Labour now down only 1. Tories down 5. The Independents worked with the Tories and Lib Dems to keep Labour out. Nice to see the Tories be the ones who've lost out in an arrangement like that, for once. Normally the other party collapses to nothing.
