Kathy Lette is an Australian with a sense of humour, she's winding you up.
That said, I prefer Vegemite (and supermarket own label knockoffs) to Marmite.

The second time I worked in Oz I bought a jar of Vegemite to have on toast (I was sharing an apartment with my mate in Melbourne, so had access to a cooker).

It. Was. Shite.

Strangely enough, as was their interpretation of Cadbury's chocolate (but of course, even that was better than the solidified baby sick that is Hershey's).

I don't think so.
Trump has a very low approval rating with the British public and British politicians are as critical as they diplomatically can be, even Badenoch and Farage are distancing themselves.

I think it's clear as day what he's trying to do:
* Subvert the constitution.
* Pack the national administration with yes men (often of dubious competence).

The lead item on today's BBC One lunchtime news was a press conference from the Reform candidate in next week's Clacton by-election. At no point were any of the other candidates referenced, let alone given the right to make their own policy announcements.

Surely they can't get away with that?

Sky did the same thing when they carried the conference live.

They should have at least said "there are thirty-three other candidates standing, a list of whom can be found at <location>".

Meanwhile, this headline pissed me off:

I wonder if the 10% live in Oxfordshire?

Thames Water said 89% of 2,004 adults surveyed across the South East view the White Horse Reservoir,

Everyone wants to be able to use their hosepipe; far fewer people want the traffic associated with building a reservoir. You'll be shocked to hear that the lib dems hoovered up the NIMBY vote.

They seem to think fixing leaks and better recycling/reuse of water is an OR option, rather than an AND one.

The number of guests and correspondents being invited on to news broadcasts to repeatedly say "y'know" "y'know", often several times in the same jumbled sentence; it is really getting on my nerves.

If I "knew", I wouldn't be listening to the fucking news.

I'm wondering why the paper thinks Simon Clarke's view of the affair is particularly worthwhile, even though he's right. I note he also does the old "Nick Clegg blocked nuclear". Labour supported it. Perhaps Cameron should have asked for support there?
