I've discovered where Kemi must have been and why. A pretty impressive new station near Chelmsford. The Government invited James Cleverly along to co-open it with Peter Hendy, which was a nice touch, as the previous government did a lot of work.

A steam train was part of the opening. I'd have thought Kemi could have left James Cleverly handle things, mind.

So when's Katie Lam being sacked?

I'd call her a liar, but maybe she actually believes that if you string a word salad together with clever words in it, that it must be true. Like when Paul Embery said that Andrew Bridgen's brainfarts were credible because they had numbers in them.

Does Kemi still think that Reeves should resign?

Seems like pretty indisciplined to pile in like that. They had what looks like a fairly well planned attack on Reeves for raising taxes, which has been overshadowed. Well planned, but the usual bollocks. "You know all that spending we didn't cut? Well, you should cut it because it's really easy to cut it". They must be laughing at the situation they left with PIP.

Still going.

Reeves "didn't follow it up with them". Investigation needed. Unlike the investigation just done by the independent advisor.

I think even Kemi's shut up about the Reeves stuff. But it was good to get on the record her commitment to strong independent investigations.

So sauce for the gander.

Lex Greensill alleges current Tory leader used business secretary position to protect former PM from scrutiny
Actually, there's a legal process here- Greensill is disputing his long ban from serving as a director. So Kemi has that as an out for a while. But, like a pool ball left in the jaws of a pocket, it's there for later.

Kemi's genius leadership at work here. Ed Davey will take this all day.

I assume he is the kind of person who could walk past you in the street and you wouldn't notice him.

Fuck that guy - he's no patriot.

The BBC needs to dish out a bit of Arkell Vs Pressdram.

(Apologies if anybody mentioned that pivotal case earlier)

I didn't, but it did occur to me...

On the plus side, has Kemi dropped the need for investigations into China prosecutions and Reeves' rental license?

Kemi's chosen the big state as her target today. Perhaps some big move on pensions and the NHS is coming, but I'd be very surprised.

I’d doubt it with the way reacted to WFA.

Yup, her plans would include an end to the welfare state, not pensions, though they would be phased out for anyone under a certain age.
