I was about to write in response to the sick note thing that politicians often come up with failed policies elsewhere and rehash them.

I didn’t think someone would come up with failed rehashed policies from the Weimar in the very next post.

What utter pillockry. The chance of getting a GP-equivalent appointment for your sick note within the statutory 3-days is virtually zero. For reasons of age and a Kafkaesque Brexit anomaly, I am privately insured, yet I would still be hard-pressed to achieve that. Everyone else will be queuing down the street for a further half-day off work and another virus.

The weirdo, undiscovered Thunderbird that is Wagenknecht is unlikely to achieve the required 5% in this autumn's state elections, so even the legendarily lazy German press aren't bothering their collective arse with this story.

Absolutely. The crime scene is about 700m from us and his address barely 400m, so it's all a bit too close for comfort.

We drove past last evening at just about 22:20 and the blue lights were already in overdrive. We had met a young Czech FF couple (neighbours of my best mate's summer house in the Bohemia countryside) at a barbecue and thankfully were en route to a gay bar, rather than the park for late-night beers.

I would rather he had been questioned and then spent the next 60 years bored out of his rotten tits, but he allegedly came at the cops with a knife, so they were left with little alternative.
