I'm surprised somebody hasn't organised a candle lit vigil to mark the passing of Dan's broadcasting career. Those attending could film themselves lighting a candle several times until they got the perfect video footage.

Fellow victim of the Deep state Katie Plopkins has weighed in. The Labour Party, Muslim Council and wealthy Rabbis will be part of this conspiracy to take down GB News.

Apart from the Sun and Sky’s retail arm, a bunch of minnows and low rent operators. Why’s a Murdoch outlet bunging a few quid their way?

I agree, this a fight I want everyone to lose.
Pass the popcorn Samanfur.

Ava Evans has provided a response, interesting to see her comments (which she has now apologised for) on Politics Live in context.

There has been interesting discussion on Newsnight about the Fox story. David Yelland the former Sun editor reckons that GB News has acted quickly because one of the channels big backers Paul Marshall is currently bidding to buy the Telegraph so doesn't want all this controversy to imped his bid to buy the paper.

Others are drawing the same conclusion.
On Newsnight, the BBC were making the connection with Paul Marshall's bid to buy the Telegraph for which he has to pass a 'fit and proper person' test. He is currently one of GBNews' biggest backers, having invested £10million in their start-up. The BBC reckon he could be frit that this incident might cost him the Telegraph.

Telegraph for which he has to pass a 'fit and proper person' test.

If he has loads of dosh and promotes bigotry on behalf of the Tories, Charles Manson could pass this test.

This Marshall guy was once an Orange Book Lib Dem before becoming a Tory bankroller via Brexit. He’s also an educational hobbyist with plenty of hedge fund dosh to invest in academy schools and sit on right wing think tanks with David Laws.
A mid wit who didn’t quite make great and good A-list but not in the sewer league with Arron Banks and Farage. Although he’s getting there keeping a shit show like GB News afloat. I doubt this is a commercial investment.

What on earth is Newsnight doing covering this story ? I know the tempatation to gloat must be irrisistable but it would be far better ignoring this incident on a poxy far right TV channel watched by a few thousand extremists. Once again it's giving it the attention and credibility it craves but doesn't deserve. And what on earth was the female journalist at the centre of it all doing on the channel anyway? Did she think she was going to change viewwrs minds?

That point was made eloquently by the guests using the Sun in the late 60s as an example of how creating notorious attention in the rest of the media creates sales.
Adam Boulton reckons regulators are aware these stations could migrate to social media so better to bring them in the tent. That’s none of Ofcom’s concern and what credibility does a YouTube only channel bring?

Fair play to Caroline Noakes for trying to keep the flame of sanity and a spattering of integrity alight in the Tory party. Maybe one day this won’t be doomed to failure.

I don't think that Evans was on air. She was merely living rent-free in his rather unattractive head.

EDIT: apparently, she did make a contribution, earlier in the show. However, even a scintilla of criticism, takes us firmly in to the realm of victim-blaming. "Contributory Negligence", and all that.

@Rosvanian

Ava Evans wasn't on GBNews, it was her appearance on BBC Politics which triggered Fox's deranged rant.

Michael Fabricant and Katie Hopkins are also outraged by the BBC's coverage but the prize goes to Darren Grimes' meltdown about Newsnight covering the story which was really quite spectacular, even by his standards. :D

Darren still doesn’t understand what news is. The main Newsnight report in that edition was showing the human cost in casualties to Ukrainian troops. If it was about British troops in a war we’d have to hear the screaming twats like Grimes accuse the BBC libtards of giving succor to the enemy and dissing Our Boys. But they don’t really support Ukraine so there was no backlash about this piece as those who do wouldn’t be so absurd.

If you watch the YouTube video "Ava responds" which I posted, it includes the clip of Politics Live and Fox's GBNews rant.

Well, it has lots of people wasting bandwidth on it so it's clearly a "disrupter" in the world of 'news' and these days, influencing is what counts.

If you want to really waste some time on GB News, head over to Digital Spy.

One post on there says NewsMax is now on Freeview - is this true? (Edit - yes, but only if your telly is modern and connected to the Internet)
