How did the son of James Fox turn out to be such a charmless, arrogant, angry, tosspot?
I know Uncle Eddie Fox is a bit of crotchety Kipper but his daughter Emilia comes across as a perfectly normal person. Better actors won’t do as Laurence isn’t bad at his craft as already discussed. Not as good an actor as Billy Piper who’s not coming back so get over it.

A role he played in Ultimate Force, Gosford Park, The Hole, Lewis, and some Christmas Carol update I saw him in.

There comes a point where you have to wonder why he never showed any more range.

I gave up on R4's Today years ago but I just read that Nick Robinson interviewed Angelos Frangopoulos on the programme this morning. As a licence fee payer my question is "why?" Why is the BBC so desperate to bow down to the people who despise it, who would raze it to the ground and salt the earth where it once stood? (to paraphrase James fucking Delingpole). The only correct course of action for the BBC is to ignore GB News.

BBC cover it, look as if they're the bigger man (so to speak). They ignore it, everyone else covers it, and asks why the BBC aren't covering the big story of the moment. BBC looks out of touch.

Ultimately though, it's Sartre's reasons not to engage with fascists. You can't have a reasonable conversation with unreasonable people, who are just humouring you until they get bored or angry.

In fact, it was Amol Rajan who interviewed Frangopolous , and he did a very commendable job of screwing the bastard to the floor, particularly on his entirely bogus insistence that GBeebies is a news channel. There certainly wasn’t any “bowing down”.

Glad I heard Rajan’s thorough interview, Robinson tried to muscle in pretending he plays hard ball with Tories like himself.

The fact that this GBN big cheese has a made himself accountable indicates they’re in the shit.

In other news, there are rumours that the other Robinson (The fake vicar one) has been suspended.

What the devil's going on at GBN?

The BBC live feed is fun and I see that pointless meatbag Young has weighed in.

From the fake vicar:
"Our bosses are scared. Afraid of Ofcom, afraid of the woke mob"
Guess what, shithead? You wanna keep broadcasting in the UK, you do what OFCOM tells you.

Cynical, much?

Don’t like the sound of GBNews cleaning out the stables and pretending to be a proper news station. Then comes a merger with Murdoch’s Talk TV, they establish themselves and then slowly creep into being Fox News UK.

But Ofcom’s chief executive Dame Melanie Dawes says GBNews is not a news channel, which is why it's fine to have serving Tory MPs hosting it's shows.

Correct - as long as it brands itself a current affairs channel, it can carry on with its mission.

Have Ofcom grown a pair as they don’t think their current masters will be around much longer?
Witnessing the gutless sock puppet from Ofcom up against John Nicholson in a select committee grilling, that’s highly likely.

It's an interesting thought: when it wants, Ofcom can remove entire TV stations, vide RT.

Of course, GBeebies could go online and not be subject to regulation but being online-only just doesn't have the cachet of a slot in an EPG.

Free speech, innit? GBN are as entitled to broadcast on YouTube just as RT or David Icke are. Not much good when your viewers are mainly old farts flicking the remote around in the evening while dropping Doritos on their underpants.

When my octogenarian uncle isn't watching football, GB News is on the telly.

And it has definitely shaped his outlook.

Have any of these "stand for free speech" people gone on strike like the Match of the Day wokes did?

Former Ashfield MP Gloria De Piero is in touch with proper old fashioned Labour values, perhaps she’ll stand in solidarity.
