Sunak has also urged military intervention to back Trump. A periodic reminder he wasn't Captain Sensible restoring sanity in the Tory Party but just another post Cameron right wing headbanger.

The reason Sunak got the gig was because they thought he'd be another John Major.

Kemi has gone further. Actually sticking up for the PM v Trump as well.

She's on the usual form.
She says Keir Starmer pulled out of an an event organised by the group that organised the Trafalgar Square event when he was opposition leader because they are “highly controversial”. He was “sucking up” to British Jews. So his stance is “the mother of all hypocrisy”, she says.
Not attending something isn't the same as saying the people doing it are trying to dominate society. Note the gratuitously nasty and shit stirring reference to British Jews there too. They didn't ask to be brought in to this.

Net Zero and "green" policies would probably have got Thatcher's approval, ironically.

That is laugh out loud bad.
I see she's back on to attacking the Government's position in this crisis again. Nobody knows when it'll end, least of all the Prime Minister. Can Kemi tell us when it'll end? People in Trump's administration have no idea what he'll say or do next.

Just look to the markets. Some people are getting very,
very rich indeed from his behaviour.

I don't know if that's it. Sure, he's eminently aware he can threaten a company and shake them down but this stuff looks too erratic. Easier explanation is that he's making it all up as he goes along.

I love "Ed Milliband's Renewable Observation Certificates". They were Rishi Sunak, Boris Johnson, Theresa May, David Cameron certificates too.
I'm not an expert on Nigerian energy policy, but I'm guessing it didn't fall down because of laws restricting production and encouraging renewables.

Kemi Badenoch has admitted that, when the Conservatives campaign promising “lower taxes” at local elections, they are not necessarily committing to tax cuts.
Instead, in an interview with Kit Bradshaw from ITV Meridian, Badenoch said that “lower taxes” meant people would be paying less than they would with other parties in power in local government.
8 out of 10 councils have raised taxes by the maximum allowed and will doubtless do so again. Lots of these are Con held.
Does she know anything about local government? Or is she predicting a bad performance and going for the talking point instead?

Kemi's back on to heavyweight stuff- Morgan McSweeney's phone.
And sure, there might be something suspicious about it going missing. But how does she feel about the disappearing Tory phones during Covid? Employing a bad person as ambassador to the US isn't as serious as tens of thousands of unnecessary deaths.

Anything to do with Mandelson is more important than Covid.

And we don’t need to bomb a country into oblivion to distract people

Is she leaving some shit for Starmer to clear up? Those Westminster MPs the SNP have will have a nice "even the Leader of the Opposition agrees!" line. She does nearly everything for tactical reasons.

She's back, wearing (I'm not making this up) a jacket with Kemi's Pothole Patrol on the back.
What a shame she's never been in government, there'd be no potholes.

This is Stride speaking, but it's pure Kemi, apart from having specific numbers in.
But the Conservatives have put out their own list. They say “families will be £913 worse off in 2026”, and they cite these eight factors to make their case.
1) Council tax will increase on average by £111
2) Water bills will increase by £33
3) Vehicle excise duty will increase by £5 for each car
4) TV licence will increase by £5.50
5) Some households will pay £329 more in rent
6) Groceries and basic essentials are set to increase by £362
7) Essentials like broadband are set to rise by £40 over the year
8) Mobile phone contracts are set to rise by £27.60
Tory councils are putting council tax up by the max. How is 1) down to the government? Water bills were going up under Sunak too (who did at least realize that water infrastructure needed paying for, unlike his predecessors in both parties).
I didn't think that the government set broadband and mobile phone prices. I'm in a rural area where we've basically only one very expensive (once the deals stop) provider. But can't most other people get on Martin Money or similar?
Is anyone doing well at the moment?
those on benefits get ever more cash.
Or, as we used to call them, kids.
