A second king dies on the throne.

This is the best sighting of "common sense" for a while. All the people killed by Trump attacks on fishing boats must be narcos because CNN haven't interviewed their relatives. (Actually various outlets, including CNN, have interviewed grieving relatives).

Tom Cotton went to Harvard Law School.

What is it with these fat yanks who call themselves king, and gorge on hamburgers and teenaged girls?

Things have rather deteriorated. He's now calling for the deaths of people (Democrats) who have said that soldiers aren't obliged to follow illegal orders. Which is the law.

I hesitate to say this, but for how much longer can this go on? We had him defending the murder of Khashoggi live on TV from the White House yesterday, with Mohammed bin Salman sat chummily alongside him.

Quite. So if Donny says "NUKE THIS PLACE!" they can say "No Sir, we will not".

Y'know, hoping he dies on the bog is wrong of me, really. But I'd settle for a non-terminal condition that leaves him in excruciating agony but unable to either move or communicate.

Yep.

The 7 Democrats (all ex-services) respond. It's particularly offensive to Mark Kelly, whose wife (former Congresswoman) Gabby Giffords was shot in the head at close range while doing an event a Safeway.

Another response from the sharp end, from a Minnesota state senator.

Jesus, despite this, I believe his authority his waning. There is no way, even six months ago, all those Republicans would have voted to release the Epstein files, and Marjorie Taylor Greene turning on him for her own selfish reasons, and this month's election results.

Maybe they have finally realised that, in the words of Lenny McLean:

"He's a fucking liability."

Republican's must realise that they are coming to a crossroad. Either they stick with Trumpism ans allow Trump to basically pick his own successor or they take back control of the party and ensure that the contest to find their next presidential candidate is completely open. Trump would clearly like to either stay on as President or pick his own successor to ensure there is somebody in the White House to pardon him if necessary.

We spent most of the Biden administration thinking the Trump dilemma would tear the Republicans apart but they re-nominated him with barely a struggle. I can see the same happening again.

And I doubt there'll be any amendments to their precious constitution to prevent a repeat of the worst excesses of the Trump era - which ain't over yet, don't forget...
