The usual lines cited are somewhere in Singapore and the DLR, conveniently forgetting that DLR trains do have a driver present in case things go wrong or for shunting moves.
Supporters of driverless trains point to how people have been trapped /killed even with a driver and guard present - Liverpool, I believe?

Not the biggest fan of Jez, obviously, but Labour in 2019 didn't support withdrawal from NATO or abolishing the army. I don't know if Corbyn ever supported the latter anyway.
It's 4 years ago. Who's going to a) not remember and b) be swayed by this tripe?
Sunak says he wants to close with a reference to the armed forces, with Armistice Day coming up.
They are the best of us, he says.
Labour tried to make Jeremy Corbyn PM, a man who wanted to abolish the armed forces, who wanted to withdraw from Nato, and who sided with the UK’s enemies, he says.

Fuck me. He's still going with Network North. After they admitted that it was an illustration only.
And he says he is particularly proud of Network North, which he says is the most ambitous scheme for transport in the north from any government.
It's not even as ambitious as the previous Tory Integrated Rail Plan. Which was less ambitious than the full Y HS2 and NPR plan before.

I remember Corbyn (again, not a fan) pictured laughing and joking with veterans at the Cenotaph. Sadly, "He's into, like, all that hippy peace crap" seems to have won out in the battle of narratives.

Things to know about proper veterans.
1. Many who saw active service (particularly in the two big shows), returned home and didn't wish to relay the horrors to their friends and family.
2. Most spend a small fraction of their working life in the services - particularly those form the same big shows.
I've noticed several who were lauded as "last few D-day veterans" stating that their 2 or 3 years soldiering doesn't define the whole of their lives.

Ricky has just said that if there is any trouble - anywhere - on Sunday it's Mark Rowley's responsibility.
This is taking the abdication of responsibility to an entirely new level, especially given the statements and opinions promulgated by his ministerial stooges and client journalists. Building a bus, giving it to Sweller to drive and then chucking your top cop under it.
Man's a cunt.
No, he's a pusillanimous, poisonous and cowardly cunt.

Nicholas Soames has just bollocked Sunak.

Rowley's had to cancel his afternoon schedule to go to a meeting with the PM.
I don't think that Sunak likes the Met not doing as he tells them.

Sunak rather changed his tune later in the day. The march going ahead is a sign of freedom now.
What a pathetic lightweight. I think Bozo would be better than this.

I wonder why he backed down, and if, indeed, it was simply weakness - Rowley called his bluff. Or if saner voices prevailed...

Threatened to resign, citing political meddling in policing from the PM and that ghastly harridan who wasn't even allowed in to the meeting?
That would have left the pint-sized culture warrior in a helluva pickle.

Was Sweller refused entry?

Plod is firmly on her briefing notes, so it is notable that she was not central to the meeting.
Just a thought; Rowley might have been spitting tacks and actually called the meeting, himself. He doesn't strike me as a chap who will take much crap, (unless it is from racist rank-and-file, obviously.)

Listen shortarse, we're the fucking Met, and we haven't had our dinner!
Is probably how the conversation went.

This investigation seems to be taking a bit long.
Sunak- I told you to change it, and you didn't, right? And you've caused immense embarrassment.
Braverman- Yeah, what you going to do about it?
