Nyawlins and Vegas both very friendly, but also clear that you're just another tourist and they'll see another few thousand like you before the end of the day.
My brother went to DC on business, and said it was very, well, businesslike. Get in, do what you need to do, get out.
A friend of my partner moved to Kansas City a few years ago. People who flew out to her wedding said that it was very friendly, mixed with genuine curiosity why they were visiting the Midwest.

The late great Tom Lehrer declared that political satire was dead when the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to Henry Kissinger in 1973.
Now FIFA - yes, FIFA, the governing body of world football, has invented its own peace prize (WHY ?), and awarded it to ….. Donald Trump.
The world has gone fucking mad.

Will he be as pleased about it as when he was awarded a sheriff's tin star?

You never expect much of Republicans, but could this be a step too far? How many donors are going to want this to happen?

Europe a ‘decaying’ group of nations led by ‘weak’ people, Trump says

Well, better that than being led by a deranged, rambling puppet who finds words with more than two syllables impossible to speak.

Ukraine and Europe told Trump where to stick his Russian dictated surrender document. Now he's having a sulk. We get it Don, you're no longer an ally so fuck off.
He's been ranting gibberish about Sadiq Khan again, what an accolade for Mr Mayor.

Could the UK and the ECB co-ordinate a dump of a slew of Treasuries, just for the fun of it?

It's been suggested that China could do that, but it seems (from an instant AI preview) that this would hurt them too because it would force up the cost of their exports.
Don't know if that's something that would worry Europe.

The more TACO tries to squeeze Europe, the more Europe flexes its muscles in the face of his idiocy.

I think that rather underestimates how easy minority rule is in America. Gerrymandered house, partisan Supreme Court. To even get control of the Senate, the Democrats likely have to win 2 of Iowa, Ohio and Texas. This assumes the Democrats win North Carolina, Michigan and Maine (none of which are dead certs).

A quite refreshing read. The far right media in this country love it when Trump puts the boot in to our country and our despised European neighbours but are rather less vocal about the absolute fucking plight of the dis-fucking United fucking States.

They will almost certainly lose the house next year, even with Texas gerrymandering.
