I have five crisp shekels on the reason being plod's habitual maceration of the King's own language in a vain attempt to appear authoritative. Exhibit A: proceeding in an easterly direction.
I think you’ve put your finger on it, there. (oo-err).

‘Openly Jewish’ aside from being well suss, doesn’t even make sense in context. If the officer was referring to Falter wearing a kippah, well…so do an awful lot of Jews who attend the demonstrations (there’s even a watermelon one specifically designed to demonstrate Palestinian solidarity)…and that’s before we get to the Neturei Karta who, fringe as they may be, are visually about as ‘openly Jewish’ as it’s possible to be.

As per an earlier comment, I don’t think this is about suing anyone. The Campaign Against Antisemitism, which Falter heads, has been lobbying to have pro-ceasefire marches banned for months now. Mark Rowley has been less than eager to play ball, but if he can be forced out then there’s always the possibility that a more politically amenable replacement can be installed in his place.

None of this means that the officer’s remark should pass unremarked on. Falter’s a shitheel looking to paint the capitol as an ultraviolent no go zone for Jews, but if the police are telling the truth about his trying to walk into the crowd etc. then ‘You are attempting to start trouble where none previously existed’ should be reason enough to keep him apart from the marchers, without the ‘openly Jewish’ shit on top of it.

He suffered a terrible wound during the Falklands war. He tripped over the power cable when he got up to change channels.

This is amazing. Seriously, if it appeared as an incident in a fictional BBC drama about police corruption people would be ripping the piss out of it for lack of subtlety.

What?

An instructor has been banned from policing after a disciplinary panel found he threw petrol bombs to celebrate the end of a training course.

The panel ruled James Duthoit committed gross misconduct and would have been sacked had he not already resigned from the Metropolitan Police.

Fire caused by the petrol bombs resulted in around £10,000 worth of damage to the force's public order training centre in Gravesend, Kent, in 2022, the panel said.

Mr Duthoit, who did not attend the hearing in May, denied misconduct and involvement in throwing petrol bombs...

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cvg5edd873po.amp
... It is "incredulous" that the incident would have happened without his "instigation and full involvement", they said, especially as he was the lead instructor.

Mr Duthoit's actions "were reckless and created a risk of serious physical harm", according to the panel's findings.

It said his behaviour was "akin to the criminal offence of criminal damage" and "undermines public confidence" in the Met.

"The incident was aggravated by the fact that he was drunk and tried to conceal his wrongdoing by trying to extinguish the fire himself," the panel added.

Students and instructors celebrated the end of a five-week course led by Mr Duthoit by going out for a meal and drinks before returning to the training centre, according to the panel's report.

Petrol bombs that were made for training purposes were thrown inside a courtyard, which set alight the interior wall, window fittings, and a stripped car used during courses, it said.

Around 150 fire extinguishers were used to put out the blaze, which "caused significantly more damage than it otherwise might have done if the fire brigade had been called," the panel added...
