Ellie Chowns is running for leadership, alongside Adrian Ramsay. That would be two "shire" Greens. I think they need at least one "city" Green, probably two. I can't see this working.

I always wondered why they had TWO leaders. Why not three? Or four, or five?
Why not just a single leader like every other organisation?
At what number does having multiple leaders begin to look ridiculously absurd ?

We're an anarcho-syndicalist commune, man. Leaders are for bread heads.

It looks absurd with two leaders, but as they're are two fairly different sorts of places electing Green MPs and councillors, it does offer some sort of balance. Or you could, you know, do what everyone else does, and have a leader and deputy leader.

More from the populist Zack. It took him quite a few hours to spot this "not even subtle" thing. God I hope he loses really badly.
The Starmer quote is cut off to remove its (very clear) meaning about parallel communities. It's been clarified by ministers since, more than once. That's not at all like the Powell meaning.

"Clarified", aye good luck with that in a nation which is going forward together, doomscrolling on their phones, regardless of the language or hintergrund.

It was clear in the original, unclipped quote.
Anyway, I've let my MP know I'm unimpressed by this stuff. And wished her good luck in the leadership v Mr Populist.

Had a nice reply. Sensibly, perhaps, she ignored my rant, and just thanked me for my kind wishes.

Zack claims this article from 2013 was a stitch up but it’s rather complimentary about Zack’s hypnotherapy USP. If there’s one subject the Sun can claim expertise in its big tits.
Did the then Lib Dem activist give the Cheeky Girls mates rates?
TIT-NOTISED Can you really THINK your boobs bigger?
Hypnotherapist Zack Polanksi reckons so. He says he can boost your cup size using the mind alone. “This is an extremely new approach, but I can see it becoming popular very quickly, because it’s so safe and a lot cheaper than a boob job,” says Zack.

Helen Lewis rarely fails to make me laugh
But that "Waitrose Green" tendency (the militant wing of the CPRE) is very different to the "Gaza Greens" in cities.

I've met a fair few out here in windfarm country. "I didn't move here so that the green future I envisaged for the suburbia I left could follow me. Down with this sort of thing!"

The Greens aren't really like that, in fairness. They're quite like David Steele Liberals, getting around the local area with a personal touch, PR and generally sounding sane. The more radical "Brighton-Bristol" stuff isn't really emphasized, though I think there may be some tension within the Greens on that. I picked up that the woman who leafleted is keener on my local councillor than she is on my local MP.
I think they'll probably be OK on wind and solar installations. My objection to them is likely to be more on housing, where they completely refuse to recognize the value of supply and tend to talk up the likes of Bob and Thelma's house on the Elm Lodge Estate as "luxury".

I see one of their old schoolers, Molly Scott Cato, ex MEP, economist, has lined up being Chowns and Ramsay. Zack Polanski's supporters remind me of Momentum. I feel like joining so I can vote for Ellie.

My Green councillor's moaning about too many homes being scheduled for Herefordshire. All the new houses have to be affordable (as opposed to being aristocratic follies, presumably). New development needs public transport, which is lucky because where we live has a station. She's worried about too much development here as well.

Well, 463 people liked that brainfart.
Guardian's printed an article from Ellie Chowns about standing for leader. I fear we might get Zack's very soon.
https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfr ... lie-chowns
She's sane but it's all basically "we need this, this and this, and someone else is going to pay". That isn't how the German Greens who she mentions operate. (They also became less popular while they were in government).

I don't get this "Starmer picks up paper, what a metaphor!" stuff. Starmer stands there while his deal falls on the floor and gets blown about by the wind, that might have been a metaphor too.
The Greens are having a bit of Have I Got News For You caption competition fun there. But some people are taking this "metaphor" stuff really seriously.
