Oh look, he's shown up in Birmingham to support the bin men.

https://www.expressandstar.com/uk-news/ ... n-workers/

The pay claim should be met in full, whatever the consequences, which the council say will be a load more pay claims local councils can't afford because, get this, the Commonwealth Games.

Had he held any power at all, doubtless something would have gone wrong at some point. That would by his logic have required him to meet every pay claim.

He never came out in support of the bin workers back in 2017.

10 years old, still spot on. He can’t support anything without making it about him and/or making it so he never has to do anything other than complain.

Thanks for the heads-up, Crabby, that is a very interesting piece.
Is he/she still writing? I follow on Bluesky but I'd never seen this blog.

And can someone translate Twll Dun for me - it seems to be idiomatic and Gooogle translate isn't helpful...

Being Jeremy Corbyn must be the easiest job in politics. Just say "I was right" about everything that's happened and "They're wrong" about anything that's about to happen.

It's 'arsehole', but spelt wrong.

I see social media seem to be full of Corbyn and Sultana bragging that they’ve apparently pulled in 400,000 new “members” of their new as yet un-named party.

It’s the same boast that we heard ad nauseam when Corbyn was leading the Labour Party. I grew weary of telling the bragging Corbots that membership numbers made precisely fuck all difference to what actually matters - getting elected to power and actually getting actual stuff done. And so it proved . Twice.

If the media decide they're bored of Reform and big this party up it might help consolidate Labour's vote with moderate floating voters.

Absolutely.
These are not even members, they're a mailing list. There's also the small matter of there being no party, as yet, to join.

But you can bet there's a 'Donate' button.

One person, one vote in the biggies. No extra votes for party members.

Also, if your association with a party means 2 people decide that despite the good bits it's not for them, well done. You are of more use to your opponents than you are to your own party.

Perhaps residents of (or adjacent to) Birmingham can correct me here but didn't the unions play a significant party in Birmingham City Council's bankruptcy in the first place?

Looks like the blog seems to have stopped a few years back unfortunately (unless it has moved, but if it has not sure where to).

I've been saying this for years and usually get accused of whataboutery. So glad that someone with Phil's reach is using his platform to call out the hypocrisy.
