Well, this is interesting. Sunak is adopting the “Shaggy” (“it wasn’t me”) defence in respect of his cancellation of HS2 Phase 2a.

Mark Harper must love him.

In Richie's case I think "Big boys did it and ran away" is more appropriate.

More like “the big boys” have milked as much as they can, out of it

He seems to be getting a fairly easy time seeing that Mone said he knew all about it.

Miriam Cates not happy with Sunak. Immigration puts pressure on services. Apparently British babies don't.

It is now being claimed that he was referring to Harry Cole who reported earlier this year that you could find Rishi's phone number on the Internet.

How much taxpayers money was wasted on this piece of blatant self promotion?

Honest Rishi.

(As an aside, big tax cuts to the better off is apparently the way to revive the NHS, per Cummings)

Another less than stonking poll for Sunak. Even in Essex, he's doing badly. Starmer most popular PM in such lefty hotbeds as Chelmsford and Southend.

And if you think Essex is bad, look at Hertfordshire.

No 10 refuses to follow Cleverly in setting end of 2024 as target date for ending all small boat crossings
They've given up (part 95). Now the relatively professional James Cleverly is setting his own "tough" target for the Prime Minister to get nowhere near meeting, for the purpose of getting the leadership off him.

Sunak says election will be in 2nd half of 2024. Just to drag out the agony a bit longer.

Here's where he was speaking - a Youth Centre in Nottingham...

Apparently all the yoof was given a tenner and told to go to the pictures and several busloads of Tory councillors shipped in. And don't they look enthused?

Local elections are due on May 2nd. Any last minute giveaways won't help them. Not sure they'll be looking forward to canvassing in the autumn either.
