Why don't these parties join the Greens?
Sure, they'd have to drop some of their toxic old "characters", but better prospects electorally, surely?

I suppose there is a war on, which normally helps the PM, but that's a fairly good show for the Tories. Doesn't suggest to me they're fucked in red wall seats. Smaller fall than Old Bexley and Sidcup.

Haven't you learned yet? Electability comes a very poor second to ideological purity. Joining the Greens would mean having to compromise, and that's a word they can't spell.

Something for everyone in this result: a solid, workmanlike victory for Labour in a heavily Leave seat, the Tories avoided a shellacking, the TUSC took another step towards the inevitable Socialist revolution.

I see the Beeb are using the logo of the Traditional Unionist Voice party for the TUSC!

The Tory is a local councillor and it's always going to be hard to get your vote out on a horrible, rainy winter's day when your candidate is 1/25 with the bookies. What was interesting, and heartening, is that the left-wing fringe candidates got a lot more votes in total than the far right. .
