Hannah Blythyn was not the source of the story which triggered her sacking from government, the news website which broke the story has said.

Nation.Cymru has denied that the Labour Senedd politician for Delyn was behind a story which revealed the first minister had said he was deleting messages from a chat group full of ministers in August 2020.
He's got to be toast.

Vaughan Gething reported to have resigned, following a spate of ministerial resignations.

A pity, I thought he showed promise.

Two of his predecessors had a very stable tenure and sadly rare in politics, left at a time of their choosing. Mark Drakeford served six years but it was Rhodri Morgan who was pitch perfect. He served ten years and retired at 60 enjoying an unmatched in Europe approval rating much higher than his party’s vote share.

Undoubtedly a good man, but made some very poor, naive even, decisions. I'm afraid that makes him unsuitable for the post.

Some of the less politically-engaged people in his constituency are raising whispers about him being forced out for reasons of his race, while scumbags on the other side are drawing conclusions about the general suitability of any brown person in positions of power. Hopefully, neither of these trains of thought will gain any wider traction.

Eluned Morgan looks set to become the next leader of Welsh Labour and Wales’ first female first minister, after she won the public support of all but five of her party's Senedd politicians.

No other politician is standing in the contest to replace Vaughan Gething, which ends 12:00 BST on Wednesday.
Backward step, if you ask me, given that the Baroness has a history going back to the Blair years. She has also supped from the poison chalice that is the NHS brief: No one comes out of that ministerial position with anything but a tarnished reputation.

Wales did quite well in the pandemic. Probably helped Gethin win.

Plaid Cymru:
The new first minister has reaffirmed Labour’s commitment to the unfair and outdated funding model which takes no account of Wales’s needs.

The Barnett Formula is not only outdated but also unfair – putting Wales at a significant disadvantage. The notion that a “fair approach” can be adopted to the application of it, as suggested by the new Labour first minister, is a ludicrous contradiction in terms.
They're right about this. They don't say which part of the UK is getting the money at Wales's expense. It's not England, which tends to be the assumption.

I dunno, maybe Labour will do something with non-Barnett money for Wales. Wish the whole formula got abolished, but the SNP have played a blinder to make that very hard to do.

At any given point in time, everyone except for the party in power at Westminster acknowledges that Wales is getting a raw deal out of Barnett.
