Aided and abetted by AI. By the next election the technology will have developed to the point that distinguishing real from fake will only be possible by the lack of subtlety of the creator. There will be fake videos of Burnham saying all sorts of electorally suicidal stuff and the flipside is that video gotchas of fash saying/doing repugnant/illegal stuff will have a deniability potential.
