I was wondering if it was a reference to ITMA.

Birbalsingh is an ex-member of the Socialist Workers Party.
A surprising number of student SWiPpers go on to be reactionary weirdoes, don't they?
I hear that a Socialist Worker vendor of my acquaintance is now, 40 years on, a tax lawyer specialising in tax evasion defence cases.
Power to the people indeed.

Been around since the days of Usenet.

"I Think You Mean"
I thought that one was quite common. You obviously don't frequent the same cycling fora as me then Kreuzie.

National Conservatism
https://nationalconservatism.org/
Front page contributions from Douglas Murray, Melanie Phillips, Georgia Meloni, Dennis Prager, Tucker Carlson, Viktor Orban, Michael Gove, David Frost, Matthew Goodwin, Stephen Wolfe.
An odd collection to find a non-political movement.
They're very shy about using their titles (Dr, Prof, Lord) too - because they're definately not the elites here.

It's the 'intellectual' equivalent of politically homeless, or the new party for ordinary people that claims to be neither right nor left.

Isn't National Conservatism a US movement?

Yes, hence the faith and family aspects, which aren't really common in Europe due to association with the Nazis.
Danny Kruger seems to want to be back in apartheid South Africa where you could get a black housekeeper round to do the chores and then send her packing at nightfall, aided by a thug with a gun.

It originates there:
Hence the presence of nationalist god-botherers like Wolfe, and atlantic bridgers like Gove and Frost.

Miss Snuffy? Sounds like some extreme dominatrix to me

I've just, finally, realised what she reminds me off. I, and I'm sure everyone else on here, have had one or two bosses who thought the only way to manage staff was by being strict. Then, because they were awful at management, the work didn't get done and they thought it was because they hadn't been strict enough, so they got worse.

Also a hallmark of inadequate teachers.

Is she like a regular boss though? She's got more time on her hands than most headteachers. I would guess there are some fairly competent people doing the hard yards. I think she probably dicks about putting up quotes and inviting Jordan Peterson over, and doing assemblies, and telling kids off in the corridor, while other people look at the actual teaching and learning. Michaela, like Harris and ARK, are in a strong position to recruit (in particular) young teachers who can live in London and work very hard for a few years because it'll benefit their CV. I would guess that lots of them are more sensible than she is.

She sets the tone, and the ethos, though her deputies will do the day-to-day work, as in most schools.
She will front the school (open days, parents' evenings and such).
She will chair Senior Management Team meetings.
She has responsibilities with the board of governors (or whatever they are called at Michaela) which she has to do herself.
She has to undergo evaluation.
7am meetings are unusual, 8am is normal. 14 hour days can happen (meetings, school day, evening event).

The other thing I was thinking today was that of the teachers I remember fondly, none were strict. All, though, were inspirational.
