Sadly, I found it after I'd been for a shit, but it was on shiny paper anyway.

Coming back to davidjay's post regarding roads, we have roads just like this in Lincolnshire. The Forty Foot is not just dangerous, it used to be a suicide favourite too.

Indeed and it looks like Marina Purkiss has a file full of receipts, sources and evidence. They can lie all the time, we can't afford to ever slip up.

Reform have been pushing their manifesto from the 2024 election as part of the by-election campaign in Denton but the pledges are full of holes. One of the pledges is to cut Net Zero spending by £30bn but there doesn't seem to be any timescale on this pledge.
Many of the contracts the government and the energy companies have signed up to on Net Zero typically run for around 30 years so what will Reform do about these contracts? There are lots of schools that were built under PFI deals under Blair and because of the nature of the contracts the schools are still faced with large bills every year because scrapping the deals would be very difficult or extremely expensive.

Reform councillors in Derbyshire have just voted to raise council taxes by 4.9% and when they were challenged by the opposition about breaking election pledges a Reform councillor claimed that they had never promised to cut council tax, apparently voters were confused by the fact that at the time of the council elections Nigel Farage was promising tax cuts if Reform win the next election. This really is utter bollox.

Well they’ve just flipped on the two child benefit restriction.

Everyone associated with Reform appears to be like the blogger/Facebook page editor/X contributor who surrounds themself with like minds telling them that they're right and so can't handle reality.

I hope the recent announcement by the government about the shake up to council tax happens. It's long overdue and completely fair that people living in £2m- £5m and £5m+ gaffs pay surcharges of £2,500 and £7500 respectively.

I had a quick look on Telegraph Money about this and someone in the comments was whining that this means he will now be paying over £10k for council tax and according to him that's not "economically viable". £10k is 1/500th of £5m. At that rate, someone in a 100k property would be paying £200 council tax but full rate is in the region of £1300 to £2k depending on area. If you can't afford to pay £10k council tax then you can't afford to live in a property worth £5m.
