As I heard confirmed on the radio; the media now treats politics as entertainment.

Apparently Jenprick is Farage’s choice for Chancellor of the Exchequer. And Braverman is the Reform spokesperson on Education.

Farage apparently announced them as shadow roles. He couldn't be arsed to learn procedure in the EP so he probably hasn't bothered in Westminister either.

Hence Farage was in the media today. I don’t think the Lib Dem’s would get rolling coverage of announcing some internal appointments. I don’t even think the actual Opposition would.

Jenrick, Tice, Braverman and a bloke whose name I never remember, with Farage as the head of the snake. 30p must be fuming. It's truly mystifying that Braverman and the bloke whose name I can never remember don't understand that after they've deported all the 'illegals', they're next on the list.

On the day that Nigel Farage has unveiled his shadow front bench – including two leading former Tory ministers, Robert Jenrick and Suella Braverman – the Nerve can reveal that the Conservative connection runs much deeper in Reform: more than 80% of the party’s total funding since 2019 is from Conservative donors or figures closely associated with the party.

Although Reform has raised a total of £36m in that period, analysis by the Nerve reveals that more than £29m has come from traditionally Conservative sources. That figure, along with a slew of recent defections from the Tory party, has alarmed many Reform members; some say this confirms their view that Reform UK is really the Conservative party in disguise. At the time of writing, half of Reform UK’s newly announced “shadow cabinet” are former Tory ministers.

This is like when that chap pronounced himself Laura Pidcock's "Chief of Staff", like she was US Treasury Secretary, not a backbench MP.

So did Lee and Sarah Pochin not get anything?

Reform are all over this stunt too.

Did they pronounce themselves "freemen on the land"?

Shadow Ministers when they basically no MPs, give or take a rounding error?

Is that even legal? If so, I am hereby sending @Malcolm Armsteen to Edumacation and making @Abernathy the Shadow Minister for BUMSEX.

Other suggestions are welcome.

Jenrick says Reform UK would only allow British nationals to claim benefits
Lots of people who claim them are long time, legal residents, who have paid NI but aren't citizens. This is the Goodwin tactic of making it sound like they're people who've popped over 5 minutes ago with no connection to the country. Won't they just take citizenship?

Might there not be a problem with this in Northern Ireland?
