Following on from the BS about transformer fires, this warmed my heart this morning. There is sufficient surplus capacity in our renewable sector at the moment that we're exporting electricity across Europe and actually earning from it.

I'm not a great lover of festivals, or outdoor gigs in general, but anything that provides a weekend of sizzling gammon is fine by me.

Good comparison with a football tournament. The Telegraph have had some good football correspondents over the years (Bryon Butler back in the day). Do they just bang out articles about how football's woke nowadays?

In my Glastonbury* going days, I used to divide the ticket price by the cost of going to see the bands I liked at individual gigs. From memory, the breakeven point was five so everything else was 'free'. By that calculation it was a bargain.

Remember an article by Jimmy Greaves a couple of decades ago as to why he only watches rugby as football was now full of overpaid preening winers. He had a point.
