You can’t play the immigrant card when you’re in charge. Without that, culture war is mainly just noise for your own choir.

Johnson shows his remarkable lack of judgement once again.

Boris Johnson has backed the former head of the Metropolitan Police to take charge of the National Crime Agency (NCA), according to reports.

Lord Hogan-Howe could be set to lead the organisation as director-general despite failing to make it into the final round of candidates despite leading the bungled VIP paedophile ring probe...

I suppose he wants someone willing to turn a blind eye to the criminal activities of the Conservative Party.

And who was his successor at the Met, another abject failure! Everyone looking after everyone’s back

Is the National Crime Agency a particularly big job? The previous holder, Lynne Owens, came from being Chief Constable of Surrey. That's a fairly middling size force.

Hogan-Howe has been chief constable of Merseyside as well of the Met. However the Met job went, he's still a big fish.

Would Farage come back and play the immigrant card? Would it make any difference?

Another great appointment of a mate by Johnson here.

Hard to imagine a worse look for a university regulator than this.

Surprised they didn't go with that Durham University arse.

Another "and what are you going to do about it?" appointment. Plays well with the base though, who think all students are soft as shite and doing Harry Potter studies.

But they can play the Civil Service Obstruction card.

Johnson’s wife trading Johnson in for a younger, more attractive model would certainly be an amusing spin on the usual scenario.

An often overlooked aspects of Boris's premiership has been the sheer amount of brain rot it has prodcued online.

Rules at the time were for no more than 2 people. Johnson wasn’t fined for this where there are 5 visible + photographer in close proximity. It is inexplicable he hasn’t been fined for it.

No wonder they were so desperate to set up Starmer in advance to establish false equivalence. They knew this - which is quite blatantly a piss-up - was coming.

Also, if this was not investigated and he wasn’t fined for it, what the hell were they doing at the one he was fined at - injecting neat scotch into their eyes?

I think he probably went out of his way to cough for the birthday thing because it was the most innocuous sounding.

We always knew the outcome: Johnson bang to rights, Johnson carries on regardless and the circus leaves town. The cost is his credibility and he’s unlikely to claw it back.
