That means standing up to fossil fuel giants putting their profits before our planet.
The Government hiked taxes on them and is investing massively in renewables, nuclear. So what does this actually mean? We tell them to fuck off and have power cuts?

World's oldest teenager. No interest in the EU in the statement. Why would anyone choose these goons over The Greens?

You are Fenton's pet fuckwit AICMFP ;)

Incidentally, have you noticed how that individual has stopped defending Putin since he invaded Ukraine?

Still living in late cold war times when it was clear that the USSR couldn't and didn't want to roll its tanks across Europe. Russia under Putin is a different thing entirely.

Meanwhile, re: the name. Will they give the membership a choice between the People's Front of Gaza and the Gaza People's Front?

They hate that the Berlin Wall came down and (broadly speaking) the people chose European capitalism, and that at least some of them did very well economically. They thought people would vote for the same sort of planned economy and closeness to Russia.

The absolute classic of this genre is Tony Benn in 1990. I put this up before. Absolutely mad. Getting away with talking rubbish because you sound posh is by no means limited to Boris Johnson and Jacob Rees Mogg.

On the latest post on that blog, 9 out of the 11 comments are in the Pet Twat's style. At times replying to, and heartily agreeing with, himself. And it's not just that post - every one of them is dominated by him, often just descending into a series of posted links to the Canary and various other blogs.

I used to enjoy that blog, and put up with it for a long time, but now it's just been ruined by the BTL wank, and Fenton's own increasing detachment from reality.

I've often wondered if Pet Twat is actually Fenton himself - he does seem to have that same "drag 'n' drop" style of preset phrases that Fenton does. I also preferred it when Fenton wrote about more than politics.

Haven't read Fenton for a while, but isn't his style sort of like Private Eye, knowingly using its own expressions for an in-audience? Somebody BTL talking shit is a bit different.

Except when it's done to excess Tubbs, it gets incredibly tedious and just looks like you're padding your word count.

If Fenton wanted to be taken seriously, he'd do well to bin off the Spartalike.

A sense of humour that is limited to Python and Blackadder. And odious quoting of both.

Had a new one who should "do jail time" over Palestine. Angela Eagle, who isn't even a relevant minister. She's Borders and Asylum, They might as well arrest the Transport Secretary and the Chief Secretary to the Treasury.

Before Corbyn Fenton was a somewhat useful source of information, albeit his jokes were wearing thin even then. But within a couple of years, he'd turned full Corbynista, he wasn't alone, a lot of those Left bloggers like Another Angry Voice and A Very Public Sociologist, amongst others, ended up going off the rails. Last time I visited Zelo Street, he'd moved to Portugal as they had a proper left-wing government, and shortly afterwards, they elected a right-wing government.

I've been skulking around the 'net long enough to remember him from the days of Usenet and the newsgroup uk.railway: he posted on there a fair bit about railways but his politics would see him get roasted by other posters - being an unmoderated newsgroup you just had to take it. One person in particular really had it in for him, a very right-wing Canadian IIRC. On one occasion, said individual replied disparagingly to a different poster about "that Fenton-esque rag" - to which he meant The Guardian.

It wasn't long before he stopped posting (Usenet was dying a death anyway) and then he appeared on Blogger.

Ahhh, Usenet. Thems were the days.

uk.music.rave was a real peach. I met a life-long friend on there who, not so long ago, insisted upon picking up our upgraded hotel bill in Bangkok; he's a lefty at heart but ended up in the Panama Papers.

Nobody's perfect.

Are the BBC and whatnot going to be asking Corbyn for his tuppence-worth on everything now he's got a party?

"Will he provide content/generate clicks?" is the question you should ask yourself here.

That's been the case for a decade or more by now. It certainly swung the Brexit vote.

Not the WASPI Women.
He promised them £58bn in the last week of the 2019 campaign. Absurd. Shows he just wants to chuck money about. Except on defending allies.
