I've noticed looking at this Wikipedia entry for holders of stewards of the Chiltern Hundreds that when David Davies had his resignation in 2008, he held the post for nearly a year so I presume that it is not a barrier to seeking re-election then. I guess that's my question answered.

I doubt too that the good folk of the Chiltern Hundreds can expect a Faragisterial visit, any time soon.
