I think the best that those interested in the slowly turning wheels of justice can hope for is that Netanyahu and Gallant have to spend the rest of their lives taking a Kissingerian interest in their travel arrangements.

Does that apply to the Hamas commander the ICC named as well?

Of the three originally named only Mohammed Deif might still be alive (Israel has claimed he was killed in an airstrike back in the summer but no body has turned up to confirm as of yet) and should he surface then sure.

I am struggling to see what the Gaza crisis has to do with advocating for better pay and working conditions.

Indeed, with the current cuts at the BBC one might think the NUJ's priority might be defending their members jobs. If the NUJ aren't interested in that they won't be surprised if their members take their subs elsewhere.

Anyone who Netanyahu's mob considers a bit suss is now being bombed to smithereens. That's where we are.
Who is going to tweak these murderous fuckers' leash? Anyone?

This is the thing - Israel have given themselves carte blanche to do whatever they like in the Middle East. They're an apex predator with guns.

Someone elsewhere posted a link to this John Berger piece yesterday. Written in 2009, just for reference.

Day and night bombs, shells, GBU39 radioactive arms, and machine gun rounds are being fired by the Israeli Defense Forces from air, sea, and land against a civilian population of one-and-a-half million. The estimated number of mutilated and dead increases with each news report from international journalists, all of whom are forbidden by Israel to enter the Strip. Yet the crucial figure is that for a single Israeli casualty, there are one hundred Palestinian casualties. One Israeli life is worth a hundred Palestinian lives. The implications of this assumption are constantly reiterated by Israeli spokesmen in order to make them acceptable and normal. The massacre will soon be followed by pestilence; most lodgings have neither water nor electricity, the hospitals lack doctors, medicines, and generators. The massacre follows a blockage and siege.

The next time I see someone invoking “Pallywood” I may have to start screaming borderline-incoherent abuse.

The most high-tech killing machines our world has ever known are being used against a starving population under siege in a scorched and toxic landscape. Forensic Architecture’s recent report, A Cartography of Genocide, illustrates the compounded nature of the destruction of all forms of life in Gaza. There is destruction on every level: from the drone-filled sky to the toxic contamination seeping into the land and the bodies living on it. The air is filled with particulates, the sea with sewage, the groundwater poisoned by munitions and toxins.

The reactions to Israel closing its embassy in Dublin have been suitably breathtaking. Click through for further explanation and much craziness.

Actually, that is just the cheapest of the cheapest shots, and you know it - unless your head is full of boiled beef and carrots, which cannot, by any stretch of the imagination, be ruled out.
Ireland has evolved in to being one of the most progressive, stable, and eminently likeable nations in the last forty years, and it has held that line in every single official communication, since Netanyahu's murderous cabal thought that they had stumbled across a get-out-of-jail-free card.

I don't know if you think Israell was occupying Ireland because they had an embassy there then I think your brain is full of boiled beef and carrot. if you don't think there is anti-semitism in Ireland you can tell that to Rachel here

Christ, where do we start here?
* It is perfectly possible for cunts to live in an essentially free country, and still cling on to the antisemitic views of those who they claimed to hate to the point of setting about post offices.
* Irony and sarcasm can live in a tweet.
* Not being supportive of Netanyahu sets you with the majority of Jews. Being supportive of Netanyahu makes you a psycho.
* Being rather cheesed off by industrial-scale slaughter does not meet the general definition of antisemitism.
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

If you think Liam Cunningham was being ironic or sarcastic then I have a bridge to sell you. Telling someone who is Irish and Jewish to get of Ireland is you know anti-semitic.

My missus was blissfully unaware of the existence of Melanie Phillips until recently when she made some comment or other about teachers. She asked if knew of her. "Oh, yes, she's a vile, hateful, far right cunt" I replied, "yet the BBC saw fit to employ her as a voice of wisdom on the Moral Maze for many years". Perhaps they still do.
