Susan Hall has posted on Twitter giving her fully support to Cleverly but he post hasn't been well received by her supporters who don't seem to share her enthusiasm.

Presumably the Tories will have to have some kind of selection process so Cleverly could be counting his chicken. Kemi Badenoch has allegedly blocked Grant Shapps and Mordaunt from standing has Tory election candidates so she could well try and stick her nose in the mayoral selection process.

Kemi Badenoch seems to be having a big purge of the shadow cabinet but none of the replacements are particularly impressive.

Dame Priti, who had been shadow foreign secretary since 2024, will return to the backbenches and will take on a new international role strengthening the Tories relationship with sister parties and centre-right movements abroad.
