We had some news this afternoon. Seems that the GP has us about +/-30th in line for an armful of BioNTech in her practice. Seems also that she is only getting some 12 a week, however.

Much to the disapproval of the X-ette, I have suggested we explore naked bribery.

Gah! COVID jab scheduled for Tuesday, but my first bike race of the season is Tuesday night. Hope there's no side effects...

You could be the first rouleur to take a needle and perform worse.
There's a story for the grandkids.

Spotted on a Covid thread elsewhere:
Full Fact is a registered charity but has strong commercial connections and its board is strongly of a centrist persuasion.

Well, that was painful and somewhat regrettable, right arm was fairly dead and general aches and creaks kicked in really hard about seven miles in. Crawled over the line.

Still, that might have happened anyway. The ould body is not exactly a temple.

Had my second AZ jab at the end of last week, unlike the first one there were no symptoms bar my left arm being a tiny bit sore for a few hours. :)

Looks like we've had a visit from a Free Thinker in the bog at work:

Meanwhile, I await news of when my second dose will be: it should be between the 11th and the 18th of this month.

They would be midget sheep in that case. Corgis would be far more representative.

I think it's a play on words, like Christmas being "two sleeps away"

What annoys me is all too often it's people like this who expect others to do all the "heavy lifting" in situations like this and do nothing themselves, whilst castigating them for doing so.

It's bad of me I know, but I do harbour a desire for these people to watch their loved ones slip away in an ICU whilst they try to convince themselves that it's all a plot made up by The Man to control them.

I don't get where paranoia about the motives of various organisations Vs. unquestioning loyalty to anonymous internet collectives with zero accountability cross over.

"I quit fags in favour of home-brew Krokodil" isn't a win.

Quite. See also: Trump. 'I am cynical about everything except our LORD AND SAVIOUR, ORANGE MAN.'

Now that over 15m have been vaccinated twice there will now have been situations whereby many of those people will have been told to isolate as a direct result of being in contact with a Covid positive person who has refused vaccination. Of course, a vaccinated person can still test positive, but probably not. The Government need to decide how to deal with the direct impact the refusers have on others lives. I doubt they will.

At which point the civil liberties lot will kick off. I was getting heartily sick of hearing Shami Chakrabarti banging on about "Big Pharma and Friends" this morning on the radio - to me at least, using the phrase "Big Pharma" sounds childish and devalues your argument.

I've said this before, when I hear "Big Pharma", I imagine a Rapper from Somerset with a pimped out Tractor.
A kind of of Goldie Looking Chain from the other side of the Severn, or a Hip Hop Wurzel.

My brother was doubtful of the existence of COVID until we spent 5 hours watching our mother drowning on her own lungs last December. He took our dad's shielding very seriously after that.
