Please allow me a moment to imagine if Binface beat Farage.
My god it'd be the greatest moment in human history.
The "Biased BBC" crowd would spontaneously combust with excitement!

Today I find myself in complete agreement with Keir Starmer, Kemi Badenoch, Ed Davey, Zack Polanski and Rupert Fucking Lowe.
Fuck you Nigel Farage, you attention seeking cunt, fuck you very much!
Usually joyless Kemi appears to be enjoying herself over Farage's self inflicted predicament. Have to admit I'm pleased for her.
Farage, Jenrick and Tice are under criminal investigation, of course she's enjoying it. It's a desperate, uncomfortable position I find myself in - welcoming a possible Tory revival - hopefully it will be marginal.
Be her next then back to Burnham when the Tories have elected a white person again. My only slight concern with this is if Farage pulls out... no bad thing but its got the potential to end up with a rather horrible individual in the commons even more so that Reform.

The Monster Raving Loony Party're saying that they'll field a candidate, but they're getting flak for it online.
Odds on Binface now 7/2.

Anyhow watching a Voxpop from Channel 4 before, a lot of younger people 20/30s (Must have been lunch time) and not one of them had a good word for Farage. Did they release the footage they usually bin?

There's a positive bit of me that hopes the Millenials, Gen Zs and all the other "Yoot" demographics might get their shit together for this one.
(Allowances, here, this is Clacton, so anybody under 65).
How long are they prepared to put up with the "The problem with younger people today ..." narrative.
Do they want to restore their town's reputation from "God's Nazi waiting room".
Surely the Youth see they're being used, and cynically.
Are they simply - up for a prank?
I believe that children are our future.
I also believe that the breadheads and ghouls of Reform can get in the fucking sea.
Trebuchet off the end of the pier, if I had my way.

Just read elsewhere that Piers Corbyn has thrown his hat into the by-election.
So that's him, Fox and an ex-РеФорм councillor from Kent (Amelia Randall) all standing.

Let's be honest - Farage will almost certainly win fairly comfortably. BUT.
This could be the equivalent of a stalking horse in a leadership contest - it's not the winning that matters but the margin of victory. If Binface can get, say, 30% of the vote Farage will be shown up. If, by some miracle, the Count wins it will indeed be a moment. A Portillo + Truss + Rees-Mogg x Infinity moment. It'll be the end for Frog-face, cause grevious harm to Reform, and it might possibly see Prime Minister Burnham calling a general election,

Can't speak for the 56% of Clacton who didn't vote for Farage but people against him generally really fucking loathe him. 30 percent for a man with a bin on his head would be an humiliation for Farage.

That recent Stephen Collins cartoon is beginning to reflect the candidature of this by-election, isn't it?

Thing is we keep hearing from Farage Fan base he is going win, of course he is that’s the issue though if he doesn’t storm at least 80% he’s going look like a twat and even then he still will.

Farage got elected at the GE with 46% , which means that there is a majority of active voters that voted against Reform. Assuming the Official Monster Raving Loonies don’t bother, the only other declared candidates so far are two far-right nutjobs who will take votes from Farage. And the anti-Farage vote has a single candidate to coalesce around - Binface.
So Count Binface MP isn’t that improbable.
The Binface memes on social media are surpassing even Boaty McBoatface.

It would be interesting to know what Farage would see as a victory in Clacton. Given that it really is a no contest and that a by-election in August is likely to have a low turnout any victory is likely to be very hollow. His share of the vote is bound to rise but the number of people voting for him could be well below what he achieved in 2024.

However narrow he'll call it a win for the people against unprecedented levels of Establishment opposition.

I've seen various theories about what he might do, but one that seems plausible to me is that he loses this election, sits back and makes some serious coin while acting as overall ReFuk CEO, and someone else (probably Jenrick) leads the parliamentary group and attracts much flak. Then in 2029 he makes a glorious return to reinvigorate the party and save the day.

When did we stop having directors of companies and start using that typically self-important American import of Chief Executive Officer? It just sounds ridiculous.

He’ll win. He’s not going away yet. It’s just that the by election probably won’t be what he was expecting.

If he loses this one - which he won't - he's gone for good.
