It really wouldn't be difficult to put together a load of bad things happening in the world together and say that the thread that binds them together is anything you want it to be. I come back to Jews again- I have no idea how awful it must feel to be constantly put in the frame for the bad stuff that's happening. And it's bollocks anyway- the US does what it likes, abroad and at home. To suggest anything else feeds into the "Zionists are pulling the strings".

Media really needs to be much more careful with the way that it frames this stuff. I appreciate that it can be difficult to report the news without straying into tropes that have got Jews killed in the past. But they need to do better than this.

I once had a member request time to speak at a meeting (all-members) and it turned out she wanted us to boycott Veolia (who empty our bins and dispose of our rubbish) because they were involved in a minor drainage scheme in Gaza which was being sponsored by the Israeli government. Half an hour of my life I'll never get back, or for that matter any of the other half-hours spent debating Palestine...

This was not the member who told my branch secretary - Jewish-sounding name - that of course, 'she has blood on her hands'. Not practicing ("grandad only went to synagogue when someone owed him money, I've never been"), never been to Israel, never supported the Israeli government or Zionism.

No, Fenton's "Anonymous" contributor is more deranged/paranoid than said doctor was. Fenton's contributor is definitely along the lines of Jasper Carrott's "nutter on the bus".

I do remember in the halcyon days of Usenet and the uk.railway newsgroup that there was someone on there obsessed with the police and the secret services and who would not accept any contact other than via plain text messages - absolutely NO "proprietary" documents, as he termed them. He spent a lot of time referring to such people as "bods".

I'm still very surprised that she was able to fight a general election under such a man.
